CENTRAL MINNESOTA MAT RATS FINAL REGULAR SEASON REPORT (17th Annual)

CLASS A TEAMS

KIMBALL CUBS

The Cubs topped Central Minnesota Conference and No. 10A ranked Pierz 47-22. They topped three foes at the Fergus Falls "Pudge Anderson" Duals with a quarterfinal win over Wahpeton, ND 69-9, in the semifinals they topped AA Dassel-Cokato 50-28 and in the finals they topped AAA Lean and Mean Little Falls 50-25. Mitchell McKee, Quinten Berres, Tanner Mills and Alex Thurber were all 3-0 at the Fergus Falls duals. The Cubs topped No. 10A Pierz for the Central Minnesota Conference championship 47-22. They topped a pair of Section 5A team; Osakis 69-3 and Browerville/Eagle Valley 69-12. They topped Section five rivals and Central Minnesota Conference rivals Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 59-6, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 56-12, Lean and Mean Section 5AA Rockford 58-15 and former Central Minnesota Conference rival Royalton 56-15.




ATWATER-COSMOS-GROVE CITY FALCONS

The Falcons topped West Central Conference rivals Morris Area 59-12 and Yellow Medicine East 53-15. They dropped a dual to No. 3AA ranked Foley 39-21. They had a very solid performance at the West Central Conference with 220 points and twelve wrestlers placing in the top six. Tyler Berghuis, Hayden Rouser, Matt Meyer, Larry Bomstad, Maverick Whitcomb and James Nelson all won championships. Logan Peterson and Colin Kragenbring both earned second place; all the above mention wrestlers earned All Conference honors. T. J. Hoffman and Robert Rasmussen both earned third place, Lee Whitcomb earned fourth place and Jordan Fester took sixth place. Special Congratulations to Hayden Rouser as he was named Outstanding Wrestler of the Conference Tournament. The Falcons topped West Central Conference rivals Montevideo 64-6, Paynesville 57-12 and No. 9A ranked rival Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 44-18. They topped three foes at the Howard Lake/Waverly/Winsted quadrangular with one win over the host and Section 5A rival Howard Lake/Winsted/Waverly 57-15 and Section 2A Medford 66-6 and AA Lean and Mean Rockford 64-6. Robert Rasmussen, Tyler Berghuis, Derek Dergerud, Hayden Rouser, Logan Peterson, Larry Bomstad, James Nelson and Colin Kragenbring.


KERKHOVEN-MURDOCK-SUNBURG FIGHTING SAINTS


The Fighting Saints topped a pair of Section 3A rivals Canby 43-15 and Yellow Medicine East 53-15. They topped Class A Lean and Mean Section 5A rival Paynesville 51-18. They dropped a dual to No. 3A ranked Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 44-18. The Fighting Saints topped the field of teams at the Alexandria "Big Ole" Invitational with 213 points and thirteen placing in the top five. Jordan Engler, Cody Peters, Lamberto Rodriguez, Jessie Engler and Jordan Rothers all won championships. Nick Meyer, Alex Mond and Isaac Froelich earned second place and Kyle Baker and Austin Rothers both earned third place. Simon Johnson and Chase Norton both earned fourth place and Travis Lamecker took fifth place. They completed their regular season with great performances with a big win over AA Montevideo 65-6 and with 241 points and twelve place winners to earn the championship at the Morris Area "Tigers" Invitational. Jordan Rothers, Jordan Engler, Cody Peters, Lamberto Rodriques and Zach Carlson all won championships. Jessie Engler, Nick Meyer, Austin Rothers and Issac Froehlich all earned second place, Chase Norton, Alex Mond and Jared Krieger earned third place and Kyle Baker earned fourth place.


PIERZ PIONEERS

The Pioneers dropped a Central Minnesota Conference dual to the No. 2A ranked Kimball 47-22. They topped the sixteen field of teams with 186.5 points and eight wrestlers placing in the top five to claim the championship at the South St. Paul “Veldman” Invitational. Brad Meyer and Nathan Tomala both won championships and Chris Ortman and Brandon Sullivan both earned second place. Dustin Waytashek earned third place, Ryley Smude and Evan Woitalla both earned fourth place and Travis Peterson took fifth place. The Pioneers topped Section 5A rival Osakis 57-15 and AA rival Staples-Motley 56-6. They topped No. 11A ranked Holdingford for the number one seed in their Section 7A dual meet campaign 32-21. The Pioneers completed their regular season with wins over two Central Minnesota Conference rivals Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 39-25 and Howard Lake/Waverly/Winsted 38-37.

HOLDINGFORD HUSKIERS

The Huskiers topped Central Minnesota Conference and AA Lean and Mean rival Rockford 55-9. They topped two foes at the Browerville/Eagle Valley “Bronco” Duals with big wins over Parkers Prairie 60-15 and West Central Area 64-12. They did drop a dual to Class A Lean and Mean Border West 49-24, with minus two starters. Jordan Gombos won all three of his matches at the Bronco duals. They dropped a dual to Central Minnesota Conference and Section 7A rival No. 9A ranked Pierz 37-21. The Huskiers topped the field of teams at the Rogers "Royal Rumble" Invitational with huge wins over Section 7A foe Mille Lacs 48-17, Section 3A foe MACCRAY/RCW 57-19 and AAA Mound-Westonka 45-15. Mike Jarnot and Adam Lane both won all three matches at the Royal Rumble as they used several wrestlers in this event.

NEW YORK MILLS EAGLES

The Eagles are on a bit of a roll with a huge win over Section 6A rival Ottertail Central 49-22. They did lose to AA Lean and Mean Pequot Lake/Pine River/Backus 31-28 in a very exciting dual. The Eagles topped Section 6A rival Wadena-Deer Creek 49-25 and Section 8A rival Walker-Hackensack-Akeley-Nevis 45-19. The Eagles soared over the field of teams at the Park Region Conference tournament with 186 points and eleven wrestlers placing in the top five. Shane Novak, Jeremiah Harper and Maison Roberts all won championships and Tyler Ehnert, Michael Meyer and Noah Pesola all earned second place. All the finalists earned All Conference honors. Shane Novak was honored by the coaches as the Conference 2011-2012 wrestler of the year. Austin Hamon earned fourth place and Tayler Ericksrud, Max Carlson and Gunner Flynn all took fifth place. The Eagles topped Osakis for the Park Region Conference Dual Meet Championship 37-28.


PAYNESVILLE BULLDOGS

The Bulldogs topped a pair of foes over Section 5A rival Eden Valley-Watkins 54-21 and Section 3A MACCRAY/RCW 44-25. They earned sixth place at the West Central Conference Tournament with 74 points and five wrestlers placing in the top five. Clay Spanier earned All Conference honors by earning second place and Caleb Burris and Dominick Platow both earned fourth place. Tanner Harder earned fifth place and Jarred Kuntsleben took sixth place. The Bulldogs dropped a pair of duals to Class A state ranked teams; No. 3A ranked Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 57-12 and No. 9A ranked Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 51-18.


BELGRADE-BROOTEN-ELROSA JAGUARS

The Jaguars topped Section 6A foe Parkers Prairie 66-12. They earned fourth place at the New London-Spicer “Wildcat” Invitational with 129.5 points and eight placing in the top five. Tyler Tensen and Patrick Rooney both won championships. Lee Borgerding earned second place and Josey Tensen and Dillon Knutson both earned third place. Alex Schramel earned fourth place and Ausitn Jaeger and Jared Steffenson both took fifth place. The Jaguars topped three foes at the Browerville/Eagle Valley “Broncos” Duals with big wins over Class A Lean and Mean Border West 39-35 and West Central Area 48-30. They also had a big win over Section 5A rival Browerville/Eagle Valley 51-18. Tyler Tensen, Jared Steffenson, Austin Jaeger, Daniel Rooney and Dillon Knutson were all 3-0 at the Bronco duals. The Jaguars topped section 5A rival Minnewaska 54-21 and they lost to Central Minnesota Conference rival and No. 2A ranked Kimball 56-12. The Jaguars closed out their regular season with a win over Central Minnesota Conference rival Howard Lake/Waverly/Winsted 50-21 and they dropped a dual to Central Minnesota Conference foe Pierz 39-25.


BORDER WEST BUCCANEERS

The Buccaneers topped Section 6A foe Wadena-Deer Creek 55-16 and they dropped a dual to another Section 6A rival Barnesville 37-36. They were 2-1 at the Browerville/Eagle Valley “Bronco” Duals with wins over No. 11A Holdingford 49-24 and Section 5A foe Browerville/Eagle Valley 61-16. They did drop a dual to Class A Lean and Mean Section 5A Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 39-35. Austin Maanum and Tracer Lee both were 3-0 at the Bronco duals. They topped Milbank, SD 57-24 and Grotan, SD 57-24, and also dropped a very close dual to Section 6A rival Barnesville 37-36. The Buccaneers topped two Section 6A rivals Breckenridge 51-21 and Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale 65-18.

AITKIN GOBBLERS

The Gobblers topped Great River Conference rival Mille Lacs 49-17 and Section 6A rival Crosby-Ironton 69-6. They topped AA rival Hibbing 54-26. They also had a pair of big wins over AAA Bemidji 59-12 and Section 8A rival Deer River 61-18. They closed out their regular season with a win over Section 7A rival Royalton 57-18. The Gobblers topped the field of teams with 225 points and all fourteen placing in the top four to earn the championship at the Great River Conference tournament. Jordan Chouanard, Cooper Blau, Adam Bast and Jerod Novak all won championships. Colton LaPlante, Jack Braton, Brian Wold and Alan Bast all earned second place. Roy Wigton, Noah Landrus, Adam Jackson, Shaun Phillip and Travis Bare all earned third place and Anthony Ashton earned fourth place.

UNITED NORTH CENTRAL WARRIORS

The Warriors topped two Park Region Conference rivals Ottertail Central 42-29 and Parkers Prairie 48-24 and they dropped a dual to 8A rival Frazee 43-18. They had a very good performance with 136.5 points and seven place winners at the Park Region Conference. Tommy Tellers, Sammy Tellers, Mike Johnson and Taylor Carlson all earned second place and All Conference honors. Tanner Bacon earned third place, Dylan Huttunen earned fourth place and Tristan Palmer took fifth place. Considering possibly their top two wrestlers wasn't able to compete, they had an excellent tourney.


BRECKENRIDGE COWBOYS

The Cowboys had very good tournament performance where they earned 112 points and had eight place in the top five to earned third place at the Heart of Lakes Conference tournament. Stephen Erlandson, Greg Erlandson, Cole Praus and Conrad Kondos all won championships. Josh Peterson earned fourth place and Derek Nordick, Josh Stuehrenberg and Travis Miranowski all took fifth place. The Cowboys topped Section 6A rival Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale 39-36 and they dropped a dual to Section 6A rival Border West 51-21. The Cowboys earned 104 points and they had seven place winners to earned fifth place at the Morris Area "Tigers" Invitational. Conrad Kondos and Greg Erlandson both won championships and Stephen Erlandson and Jesse Differding both earned second place. Josh Peterson earned third place, Josh Stuehrenberg earned fourth place and Zach Willpacht took fifth place.

BOLD WARRIORS

The Warriors had a great tournament performance with 108 points and ten placing in the top six to earned fourth place at the West Central Conference Tournament. Brady Zitzmann earned second place and Trevor Nisson and Benny Garcia both earned third place and Ben Wolff earned fourth place. Sean Wiebel, Martin Minkel, Nick Steffel and Chaz Rousch all earned fifth place and Joel Erickson took sixth place. The dropped two duals to AA rivals Hutchinson 54-24 and Litchfield 45-30. The Warriors dropped duals to No. 5AA New London-Spicer 32-44 and to No. 5A Wabasso/Red Rock Central 52-12.


OSAKIS SILVERSTREAKS

The Silverstreaks topped Park Region Conference foe West Central Area 46-21 and Browerville/Eagle Valley 45-27. Also Section 5A rivals Minnewaks 46-30 and Howard Lake Waverly Winsted 49-21. They topped Section 3A rival Benson 48-24 and AA Staples-Motley 46-18. They did drop duals to No. 2A ranked Kimball 69-3 and No. 10A ranked Pierz 56-6. They had a great tourney performance with 152.5 points and nine wrestlers placing in the top five to earned second place at the Park Region Conference tournament. Garrett Sherr earned second place and Trenton Coyer, Brandon Spanswick and Derek Carls all earned second place. All finalists earned All Conference honors. Cody Adophson, Brendon Coyer, Ryan Engfer and Austin Collins all earned fourth place and Austin Rollag took fifth place. They dropped the Park Region Conference Championship Dual Meet To New York Mills 37-28. They earned seventh place at the Albany "Purple Pride" Invitational with 70 points. They did hold out a number of their regular wrestlers. Garrett Sherr earned second place, Cody Adolphson and Derek Carls both earned third place and Austi Rollog and Brandon Spanswick both earned fourth place.


CLASS AA


FOLEY FALCONS

They topped No. 3A Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 39-21 and they dominated two AA foes No. 9AA Hutchinson 56-16 and Section 6AA and Lean and Mean rival Annandale-Maple Lake 45-13. They topped Granite Ridge Conference rival Little Falls to win the conference championship 41-24. They topped a pair of ranked foes No. 5AA ranked New London-Spicer 42-19 and No. 12AA ranked Dawson-Boyd/LQPV 41-18. They also topped a pair of AAA rivals No. 3AAA Saint Michael-Albertville 29-28 and No. 9AAA Prior Lake 39-15. The Falcons topped No. 6AAA ranked Coon Rapids 36-27 to close out their regular season.

NEW LONDON-SPICER WILDCATS

The Wildcats topped No. 3A Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 32-29 for the West Central Conference championship. They had a great tournament performance with 200 points and ten placing in the top three to earned second place in the West Central Conference Tournament. Chase Austvold, Treyton Austvold and Grant Vagle all won championships. Dylan Hanson, Kyle Cappelan and Tanner Tobkin all earned second place and Cameron Steffen and David Nething earned third place. The Wildcats topped No. 12AA and West Central Conference foe Dawson-Boyd/LQPV 48-21 and dropped a dual to Section 6AA and No. 3AA ranked Foley 42-19. They earned third place at the Anoka "Tornado" Duals with a win over Section 7AA foe Grand Rapids 47-28; in the semifinals they came up short against 4AAA ranked Cambridge-Isanti 40-24. They earned third place by defeating AAA Lean and Mean Little Falls 36-27. Jakob Skageberg was the only 3-0 wrestler at the Tornado duals. They topped West Central Conference rival Bold 41-22. They dropped their final regular season dual to No. 1A Jackson County Central 40-22.

BECKER BULLDOGS

The Bulldogs had a huge win over the No. 7AA ranked Milaca 37-26. They also topped two AA foes Mississippi 8 Conference rival Rogers 66-10 and Section 6AA foe Zimmerman 66-13. They dropped a very exciting dual to No. 4AAA ranked and Mississippi 8 rival Cambridge-Isanti 34-22. They also topped AAA and former Section 6AA rival Sartell 54-9. The Bulldogs closed out their regular season with a very impressive performance; despite the fact they didn't have a couple of their starters competing. They earned 242 points and had thirteen place winners to earned the championship at the Albany "Purple Pride" Invitational. Cory Nelson, Luke Schmalz, Mike Soule, Austin Halverson and Dustin Peterson all won championships. Brady Kurtz, Bobby Lee, Sam Kirchner, Zach Zimmer and Colton Vekved all earned second place. Cody Ferris earned third place and Steve Kappes took fifth place.

MILACA WOLVES


The Wolves topped AA rival Zimmerman 69-4 and they dropped a dual to No. 8AA ranked Becker 37-26. They flexed their muscles and topped Granite Ridge and Section 7AA rival Mora 42-19. The Wolves earned fourth place at the Blaine "
Bengals" Duals with a win over AAA Osseo 63-12. They lost a pair of very close duals to AAA Rosemount 27-26 and to No. 6AAA Coon Rapids 31-28. Justin Ladehoff, Joe Moscho and Joey Curtis were all 3-0 at the Bengal duals. The Wolves topped AAA foe Sauk Rapids 57-11 to close out their final regular season dual. Special Congratulations also goes out to Head Coach Randy Zimmer as he coached his final regular season dual as he has announced his retirement after his forty-one years of his contributions. May he enjoy his time away from the practice room during our winter months.

DAWSON-BOYD/LQPV UNITED


The United topped West Central Conference foe Benson 68-9 and dropped a very close dual to No. 4A ranked Minneota 35-31. They had a very good tournament with 168 points and nine placing in the top six to earn third place at the West Central South Conference tournament. Sam Hass and J. D. Struxness both won championships and John Weeding and Garth Oschendorf both earned second place. Brandon Schmitt and T. J. Fulton both earned third place, Jared Rolland and Jordan Staab earned fourth place and Keith Abraham took sixth place. They dropped a pair of duals to AA ranked teams; No. 3AA Foley 55-9 and to No. 5AA and West Central Conference rival New London-Spicer 48-21.

MONTICELLO MAGIC

The Magic topped New Ulm 52-6 and Little Falls 33-21. They dropped a dual to a Mississippi 8 Conference rival Cambridge-Isanti 50-22. They had a good tournament performance with 164 points and ten place winners to earned fourth place at the South St. Paul "Pete Veldman" Invitational. Zach Beaumaster, Luke Palmer and Nic Grimley all earned second place. Logan Stiller, Eric Bourgeois, Jake Bethieume and Seth Gardner all earned third place. Tavin Zavedi and Ross Hednerson both earned fifth place and Brent Riddle took sixth place. They topped a big Section 5AA rival Lean and Mean Rockford 47-31. They also topped New Ulm 52-6 and Little Falls 33-21. They earned second place at the Lakeville North "Panther" Duals with wins over AAA Lakeville South 50-22 and AAA Woodbury 52-23. They dropped the championship to AAA Lean and Mean Lakeville North 49-24. Jack Bourgeois, Eric Bourgeois, Jake Berthiaume and Nic Grimley were all 3-0 at the Panther duals. They closed out their dual portion of their regular season schedule with a win over Mississippi 8 Conference rival Rogers 60-9. The Magic had a very good performance with 168 points and twelve wrestlers placing in the top five to earned second place at the Mound-Westonka "Whitehawk" Invitatonal Nic Grimley, Seth Gardner, Jake Berthiaume, Tervin Zavadil, Logan Stiller and Zach Beaumaster all earned second place. Eric Bourgeois and Ross Henderson both earned third place; Mitch Hanson, Sam Secord and Nick Vetsch all took fifth place.

CHISAGO LAKES WILDCATS

The Wildcats topped St. Francis 33-30 in a North Suburban Conference dual. They earned second place with 110 points at their invitational with eight wrestlers placing in the top two. Kyle Schoenecker, Dylan Connell, Quade Zupko and Chase Kammermer all won championships. Joe Virga, Jonah Westbury, Carson Velaski and Joe Olinger all earned second place. The Wildcats topped AAA Stillwater 38-25, AAA East Ridge 39-30 and dropped a close one to Roseville 37-32. Chase Kammerer, Quade Zapko and Dylan Connell were all 3-0 at the triangular. They topped Conference foe Benilde-Saint Margerets 59-10 and they lost to No. 9AA ranked Hutchinson 63-18.

FERGUS FALLS OTTERS

The Otters topped Section 8AA rivals Staples-Motley 57-17 and Detroit Lakes in a very close 37-36 match. They went 1-2 at the Pudge Anderson duals with a win over Bemidji 40-24. They dropped duals to AAA Moorhead 29-27 and to Section 8AA rival Thief River Falls 42-24. Abbot Aho, Matt Laugen and Tyler Giza were all 3-0 at the Pudge Anderson duals. Abbot and Matt both won their 125 Career Matches. They topped a pair of Section 8AA rivals Detroit Lakes in a big section dual 37-36 and Staples-Motley 57-17. They topped a pair of Central Lakes Conference rival St. Cloud Tech 42-19. The Otters concluded their regular season with a win over AAA Central Lakes Conference rival St. Cloud Apollo 61-9 and they lost a close dual to Section 8AA rival Perham 34-26.

DASSEL-COKATO CHARGERS

The Chargers topped AAA Chanhassen/Chaska 41-72. The Chargers had a very good tourney as they went 2-1 at the Fergus Falls "Pudge Anderson" Duals with big wins over AAA Bemidji 49-24 and AA Thief River Falls 57-22. They did drop a dual to No. 2A Kimball 50-28. Breinet Pokornowski, Andrew Madison, Tom Halonen, Spencer Broberg and Josh Anderson. They topped AAA Chaska 41-27 and Wright County Conference rival Waconia 37-27 and AA foe Benille St. Margarets 58-21. The Chargers topped Section 6AA rival Melrose/Sauk Rapids 57-12 and Class A Eden Valley-Watkins 40-30.

ANNANDALE/MAPLE LAKE LIGHTNING

The Lightning topped Sibley East 47-22, Princeton 68-3 and Eden Prairie 45-29. They dropped a dual to No. 3AAA Saint Michael-Albertville 50-15. Teddy Erickson was 4-0 and Derek Rachel 3-0 at the Lightning duals. They dropped a pair of duals to No. 3AA ranked Foley 45-13 and No. 9AA Hutchinson 48-27. They earned third place at the Mankato East "Cougars" Invitational with 156 points and nine place winners. Jordan Hanan and Teddy Erickson both won championships. Justin Lehtola earned section place, Jake Laudenbach, Isaac Hendrickson and Tom Condon all earned third place. Joe Mosely, Cullen Gallahger and Tyler Mies all earned fourth place.

PEQUOT LAKES/PINE RIVER/BACKUS ROAD CREW

The Road Crew topped Class A Lean and Mean rival New York Mills 31-28 and they dropped a close dual to Grand Rapids 41-23. They had a great tournament performance with 184 points and twelve placing in the top three as they earned second place at the Mid-State Conference Tourney. Jace Loge, Darian Rubner, Peter Harrison and Justin Mackenthun all won championships. Drey Loge, Nick Gravdahl, Anthony Phillipson and Osmund Miller all earned second place, Nat Adkins, Derek Soenstahl and Jared Adkins earned third place and Lance Squires took fifth place.
They topped AAA Bemidji 62-10 and AA Virginia 71-9 to close out their regular season in dual meet action. The Road Crew had a good tourney performance at Morris with 165 points and thirteen place winners. Darian Rubner won the only championship and Nate Adkins and Jace Loge both earned second place. Jared Adkins, Peter Harrison and Derek Sonenstahl earned third place; Joe Harrison, Kyle Jordan, Kurt Kemp and Justin Mackenthun all earned fourth place and Nick Kramp, Nick Gravdahl and Tristan Rubner all took fifth place.

ROCKFORD ROCKETS

The Rockets dropped a Central Minnesota Conference dual to No. 11A ranked Holdingford 55-9. They had a very good showing at the Totino Grace "Eagles" Tournament with 151 points and eleven placing in top five. Ty Griffin, Zach Johnson and John Pedepenning all won championship and Daniel Paine and Danny Lynch both earned third place. Colton Weber, Brad Johnson and Mike Gasper all earned fourth place. Zach Klonne and Sasha Galka both took fifth place. They dropped a big section 5AA dual to No. 10AA Monticello 47-31. The Rockets concluded their regular season as they lost a dual to Central Minnesota Conference rival and No. 2A ranked Kimball 58-15.

MORRIS AREA/HANCOCK/CHOKIO ALBERTA TIGERS


The Tigers dropped a dual to West Central Conference and No. 3A ranked Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 59-12. They did earn fifth place at the West Central Conference tournament with 103 points and six placer winners. Zach Gibson was their lone champion and Joel Harrison earned second place for All Conference honors. Connor Metzgar earned third place, Evan Nelson earned fourth place and Dillan Johnson and Travis Ostby both took fifth place. They earned third place at the Alexandria "Big Ole" Invitational with 128.5 points and nine place winners. Tim Ostby and Zach Gibson won championships and Myles Smith earned second place. Connor Metzger earned third place, Evan Nelson, Dillon Johnson, and Jerrid Berning all earned fourth place and Wade Ehlers and Tyler Moser both took fifth place. The Tigers had a great performance to close out their regular season with 166 points and ten place winners. Tim Ostby, Connor Metzger, Zach Gibson and Joel Harrison all won championships, Evan Nelson earned second place. Mitchell Ascheman, Travis Ostby and Dillon Johnson all earned third place and Wade Ehlers and Tyler Moser took fifth place. They earned second place at their Morris Area "Tiger" Invitational.

MORA MUSTANGS

The Mustangs have been battling sickness and injuries during a lot of the season. They did top Section 7AA foes Rush City/Braham 70-6, Hinckley-Finlayson/Pine City 50-21, Cloquet 68-5 and Hibbing 55-10. They did dropp a dual to Granite Ridge Conference and No. 11AAA ranked Little Falls 46-22. They closed out their regular season with a good performance with 159 points and twelve place winners to earn second place at the Albany "Purple Pride" Invitational. Codie LaFramboise won their only championship, Thomas Fischer, Reed Gmahl and Ken Kastenbauer all earned second place. Brent Nelson and Zach Smith both earned third place and Nick Kastenbauer, Brandon Lucking, Blake Poole, Brady Beier and Austin Richard all earned fourth place and Tyler Runke took fifth place.




CLASS AAA TEAMS


SAINT MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE KNIGHTS

The Knights topped AAA foe Irondale 55-15. They also dominated four teams at the Annandale/Maple Lake "Lighting" Duals with wins over AAA Eden Prairie 50-15, AA Lean and Mean Annandale/Maple Lake 50-15, Class A Sibley East 56-14 and AA Princeton 64-6. They used several different wrestlers at this event. Mitchell Eull, Wayne Voss and Lincoln Mellinger were 3-0 at the Lightning duals. The Knights topped No. 9AAA ranked Prior Lake 40-17 and dropped a very close dual to the No. 3AA ranked Foley 29-28. The Knights closed out their regular season with a big win over Mississippi 8 Conference foe Big Lake 53-3 and they dropped a dual to the No. 1AA ranked Simley 41-18. Again the Knights were without several starters in their dual with Simley.


CAMBRIDGE-ISANTI BLUE JACKETS

The Bluejackets topped Mississippi 8 rivals No. 10AA ranked Monticello 50-22 and No. 8AA ranked Becker 34-22. The Bluejackets came up just a little short at the Anoka "Tornado" Duals as they fell to No. 3AAA ranked Hastings 33-31. They topped AAA rival Andover in the quarterfinals 61-11 and No. 5AA ranked New London-Spicer 40-24 in the semifinals. Tommy Guy, Tyler Tischer, Travis Holt, Cole Bakke, Cody Skog and Clayton Jennissen were all 3-0 at the Tornado duals. The Blue Jackets closed out their regular season with a pair of wins over Section 7AAA rival St. Frances 66-6 and AAA Stillwater 39-21.


LITTLE FALLS FLYERS

The Flyers topped a pair of Section 7AA teams Granite Ridge foe and AA Lean and Mean Mora 46-22 and Rush City/Braham 55-24. The Flyers earned second place at the Fergus Falls "Pudge Anderson" Duals with wins over Section 8AAA rival Moorhead 53-21, AA Lean and Mean Thief River Falls 41-34 and they dropped the championship to No. 2A ranked Kimball Area 50-25. Frank Wilcek, Connnor Swenson, Connor Scherping and Dillon Kifer were all 3-0 at the Fergus Falls duals. They topped a pair of former Central Lakes Conference rivals Sauk Rapids 48-21 and Rocori 51-19. The Flyers earned fourth place at the Anoka "Tornado" Duals with a quarterfinal win over Anoka 36-33. They lost to No. 2AAA ranked Hastings 58-13 in the semifinals and dropped a very close dual to No. 5AA ranked New London-Spicer 36-27. Frank Wilczek and Dillon Kifer were both 3-0 at the Tornado duals. The Flyers closed out their regular season with a pair of wins over Granite Ridge Conference foe Princeton 52-19 and Section 8AAA foe Sartell 53-15.

SAINT CLOUD APOLLO EAGLES

The Eagles topped cross town rival; Central Lakes Conference and Section 8AAA foe St. Cloud Tech 43-27. They did top a very good Central Lakes Conference rival Brainerd 35-30 for the Central Lakes Conference championship. The Eagles topped Section 8AAA rival Bemidji 47-12 and lost to No. 7A ranked Badger-Greenbush-Middle River 42-34. At the Bemidji triangular Mitch Bengston had his 150 Fall and Grant Nehring won his 150th Career Match. The Eagles turned in a very good performance with 156 points and nine place winners to earned third place at the Albany "Purple Pride" Invitational. Grant Dullinger, Matt Braun, Mitch Bengtson and Grant Nehring all won championships and Peter Nelson and Bryce Kirchner both earned third place. Nick Stram and Dylan Mehr both earned fourth place and Jared Morford took fifth place.



BRAINERD WARRIORS


They dropped a huge Central Lakes Conference dual to Section 8AAA rival St. Cloud Apollo 35-30. The Warriors have just about completed the regular season schedule. They did defeat Central Lakes Conference rival Rocori 52-25.



WILLMAR CARDINALS

The Cardinals had a very good showing at the Coon Rapids "Cardinals" Quadrangular with wins over AAA Maple Grove 46-23 and AAA Robbinsdale Armstrong 62-9. Nate Mittag, Alex Johannes, Seth Pollock and Cass Herzog were all 3-0 at Coon Rapids. They topped former Section 8AAA rivals Alexandria 52-27 and Moorhead 71-6. The Cardinals topped Section 6AAA rival Wayzata 43-19 and Central Lakes Conference rival Rocori 74-6 to close out a very successful regular season.



SARTELL SABRES

The Sabres topped Central Lakes Conference and Section 8AAA foe Alexandria 46-21. They had a great tournament performance with 212 points and twelve placing in the top four. Drew Bienusa and Dan Vitale both won championships Jon Pelach, Garret Counter, Quinn Anderson and Anthony Thene all earned second place. Brady Goebel, Jake Minor, Jed Anderson, Zach Pederson and Jake Fernholz all earned third place and Zach Motchske took fourth place. They won the championship at the Spectrum High School Invitational with this dominated performance. The dropped a dual to former section 6AA rival Becker 54-9. The Sabres topped AA Princeton 42-27 and they dropped a dual to Section 8AAA and No. 11AAA ranked Little Falls 53-15.

ST. CLOUD TECH TIGERS

The Tigers topped a pair of AAA foes Elk River 36-31 and Blaine 36-31. They did dropped a big dual to cross town rival; Central Lakes Conference and Section 8AAA foe St. Cloud Apollo 43-27. The Tigers topped a pair of Section 7AAA foes; Elk River 36-31 and Blaine 36-31. They dropped a Central Lakes Conference dual to Fergus Falls 57-17. The Tigers closed out the regular dual meet season with two big wins over Section 8AAA rivals; Moorhead 38-31, Bemidji 34-31.



MOORHEAD SPUDS

The Spuds topped Fargo South 46-23 a big cross town rival. They topped Wahpeton, ND to earn fifth place at the Fergus Falls "Pudge Anderson" Duals 39-36 and to AA Fergus Falls 29-27 in a very close dual. They dropped a dual to Section 8AAA rival Little Falls 53-21 in the qarterfinals. Jacob Rosites, Joe Carpenter, A. J. Wheeler and Chase Morlock were all 3-0 at the Fergus Falls duals. They topped Section 8AAA rival Alexandria 46-30 and dropped a dual to a former 8AAA rival Willmar 71-6. The Spuds had a very good tourney performance to earn fourth place with 121 points and nine place winners at the Alexandria "Big Ole" Invitational Joe Carpenter, A. J. Wheeler and Chase Morlock won championships. Jacob Rositas earned second, R. J. Olson and Tom Wychor both earned third place and Skyler Berry earned fourth place. Ryan Schock and Brenden Edner both took fifth place at the Big Ole. The Spuds topped a new cross town rival Fargo Davies 42-33. The Spuds topped Section 8AAA rival Bemidji 41-36 and dropped a big dual to Section 8AAA rival St. Cloud Tech 38-31.

BEMIDJI LUMBERJACKS


The Lumberjacks topped Class A rival Deer River 37-36. They dropped a pair of duals to Section 8AAA rival St. Cloud Apollo 42-12 and to No. 7A ranked Badger-Greenbush-Middle River 40-30. They earned sixth place at the Fergus Falls "Pudge Anderson" Duals with a win over Wahpeton 37-36 (criteria) they dropped duals to AA foe Dassel-Cokato 49-28 and to Section 8AA foe Fergus Falls 40-24. Kade Johnson was the lone Lumberjack that went 3-0 at the Anderson duals. They topped former Section 8AAA rival Rocori 31-28 and they dropped close duals to St. Cloud Tech 34-31 and Moorhead 41-36; both Section 8AAA rivals.


SAUK RAPIDS STORM

The Storm earned third place at the Spectrum invitational with 133 points and eight place winners. Chris Keske and Ryan Odelius both won championships and Austin Walz and Erik Olson both earned second place. McKay Ness earned third place and Sean Pearson earned fourth place and Randy Kutz took fifth place. They dropped a duals to Section 8AAA rival Little Falls 48-21 and to Central Lakes Conference rival Rocori 39-37.



ELK RIVER ELKS


The Elks topped conference rivals Centennial 41-28 and St. Francis 41-28; they dropped duals to conference foe Blaine 37-24 and to 8AAA St. Cloud Tech 36-31. They topped Saint Francis 41-28 and Centennial 34-32. The Elks topped Spring Lake Park in the quarter finals of the Blaine "Bengal" Duals 49-15 and they dropped a very close dual to Irondale 34-33. They dropped their fourth place match to Rosemount 33-29. The Elks topped Northwest Suburban Conference rival Park Center 60-10 to close out their regular season.

BUFFALO BISON

The Bison dropped a Mississippi 8 dual to rival Big Lake 46-23. They earned eighth place at the Totino Grace "Eagles" Invitational with 74.5 points and four place winners. Lucas Mock earned third place, Adam Treptau and Cedric Jiminez both earned fourth place and Andrew Mock took fifth place. The Bison went 1-2 at the their quadrangular with a win over Mississippi 8 Conference rival Zimmerman 36-24. They dropped duals to No. 3AAA ranked Saint Michael-Albertville 53-15 and AA ranked Hutchinson 61-12. The Bison closed out their regular season with 107 points and six place winners to earn sixth place at the Mound-Westonka "White Hawk" Invitational. Lucas Mock and Tanner Maus both won championships and Cderic Jimenez and Jon Wirkkala both earned second place, Adam Treptau earned third place and Jason Forphal earned fourth place.

ROCORI SPARTANS

The Spartans dropped a Central Lakes conference dual to Brainerd 52-25 and they topped Sauk Rapids 39-37. They also lost to former Central Lakes Conference rival Little Falls 51-19. They dropped duals to Central Lakes Conference and Section 6AAA rival Willmar 74-6 and to another Section 6AAA foe Wayzata 57-15. They closed out their season as they dropped a pair of duals to former Section 8AAA foes Bemidji 32-28 and Moorhead 49-29.


ALEXANDRIA CARINDALS


The Cardinals topped Melrose/Sauk Centre 37-36 on criteria and they dropped a dual to Central Lakes Conference and Section 8AAA rival Sartell 46-21. The Cardinals had a good tourney performance with 102 points and nine place winners to earn fifth place at the "Big Ole" Invitational. Trent Piepenburg, Gage Sonczalla and Justin Cumberbatch all earned second place and Jacob Schtligen earned third place. Blake Othausen, Tony Hubbard, Gaqnt Hockert and Dylan Kriesse all earned fourth place and Mike Schluter took fifth place. They closed out their regular season as they dropped a dual to Central Lakes Conference foe St. Cloud Tech 47-27.

CLASS AAA TEAMS


SAINT MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE KNIGHTS

The Saints topped two Mississippi 8 Conference with big wins over rival Cambridge-Isanti 34-28 and Rogers 74-0. They also topped rival and neighbor Elk River 66-6. The Knights earned second place at the St. Cloud Tech "Kiffmeyer" duals with wins in the quarterfinals over St. Cloud Tech 49-18 and in the semifinals over No. 3AA ranked Foley in a very close dual 32-28. They dropped the championship to No. 8AAA ranked Hastings 26-24 in a very tightly contested dual. Tommy Thorn, Cole Sladek, Lincoln Mallinger and Wayne Voss were all 3-0 at the Kiffmeyer duals. The Knights topped their big Section 7AAA rival and Mississippi 8 Conference foe Cambridge-Isanti 34-28.

CAMBRIDGE-ISANTI BLUE JACKETS

The Bluejackets topped Mississippi 8 rival Big Lake 71-3 and dropped a very good dual to another conference rival Saint Michael-Albertville. They took fifth place at the St. Cloud Tech "Kiffmeyer" Duals. In the quarter-finals they met No. 8AAA ranked Hastings and they came up just short 32-26. In the consolation semifinals they topped Sauk Rapids 51-18 and St. Cloud Apollo 55-22. Ty Torgerson and Jon Knowlton were both 3-0 at the Kiffmeyer duals. The Bluejackets used many different wrestlers in the two consolation duals. The Bluejackets dropped a very close dual to Section 7AAA rival and Mississippi 8 Conference Saint Michael-Albertville 34-28. They topped the field at the Bluejacket dual meet invitational with wins over No. 3AAA ranked Forest Lake 34-22, AA Lean and Mean Mora 71-0, AAA foe St. Cloud Apollo 62-9 and AA rival North Branch 56-15. Ty Torgerson was 4-0 and Cody Skog was 3-1 and Clayton Jennisson and Dakota Johnson were both 3-0.

LITTLE FALLS FLYERS

The Flyers dropped a Granite Ridge Conference dual to No. 7AA ranked Milaca 47-25. They had a good performance with 152 points and ten wrestlers placing in the top five to earn third place at the Bemidji "Rick Lee" Invitational. Dylan Kifer was their only champion and Connor Scherping and Frank Wilczek both earned second place. Justin Jenks and Adam Grams both earned third place and David Copa, Joe Reis and Jordan Petrone all earned fourth place and Luke Lodermeier took fifth place. The Flyers topped Section 8AAA and Central Lakes Conference rival St. Cloud Tech 39-25.


SAINT CLOUD APOLLO EAGLES

The Eagles topped Central Lakes Conference and Section 8AAA rival Sartell 45-30. They went 1-2 at the St. Cloud Tech "Kiffmeyer" Duals with a win over the host school St. Cloud Tech 36-34. They dropped their quarter-final dual to No. 3AA ranked Foley 53-24 and the Consolation championship to No. 5AAA ranked Cambridge-Isanti 55-22. Mitch Bengtson, Grant Nehring and Grant Dullinger were all 3-0 at the Kiffmeyer duals. Special Congratulations goes to Mitch Bengtson as he won his 200th Career Match at the Kiffmeyer duals. The Eagles topped Central Lakes Conference rival Willmar in a very exciting dual 35-34. They went 2-2 at the Cambridge-Isanti "Bluejackets" Duals with wins over AA North Branch 39-30 and Mora 54-30. They dropped duals to No. 3AAA Forest Lake 55-16 and to No. 6AAA Cambridge-Isanti 62-9. Mitch Bengtson was 4-0, Grant Nehring 3-0, Matt Braun 3-1, Nam Nguyen and Bryce Kirchner were all 3-1 at the Cambridge-Isanti duals.


BRAINERD WARRIORS

The Warriors had a great showing to earn the championship at the Moorhead "Rod Gadberry" Duals. They topped three North Dakota foes; Fargo South 46-21, Grand Forks Central 43-27 and Jamestown 36-34. They also topped the host school and section 8AAA rival Moorhead 38-24 for the championship. Jake Zelinske and Shane White were both 4-0 and Dan Babineau, Luke Boran, Spencer Kangas and Josh Schultz were all 3-1 at the Gadberry duals. The Warriors topped Section 8AAA rivals Bemidji 45-18 and Sauk Rapids 52-15. The Warriors turned in an awesome performance with 214 points and twelve wrestlers placing in the top five to win the championship at the Elk River "Elks" Invitational. Levi Rubin, Casey Beiver, Dan Babineau and Nate Adams all won championships. Shane White and Jeff Flickinger both earned second place and Jace Engelman and James Weiss both earned third place. Andy Schlosser, Sam Adams and Luke Boran both earned fourth place and Josh Schltz took fifth place.

WILLMAR CARDINALS

The Cardinals topped Central Lakes rival Sauk Rapids 39-24 and dropped a close dual to St. Cloud Apollo 35-34. The Cardinals were 2-2 at the Monticello "Magic" Duals where they defeated Section 1AAA Faribault 35-34 and Section 5AAA foe Osseo 52-18. They dropped duals to No. 8AA ranked Monticello 35-31 and to Section 6AAA foe Hopkins 37-29. Logan Walkow, Nate Mittag, Alex Johannes, Seth Pollock and Cass Herzog all were 4-0 and Austin Miley was 3-1 at the Magic duals. The Cardinals topped Class A rival BOLD 47-17. The Cardinals earned fifth place with 113 points and eight place winners in the top five at the Hutchinson Invite. Alex Johannes and Martin Cabrerra both earned second place, Nate Mittag, Travis Dugan and Chad Milhausen all earned third place. Augustine Hahn and C. J. Barkley both earned fourth place and Shawn Johnson took fifth place. Very good performance considering they had five starters that didn't participate.

SARTELL SABRES

The Sabres dropped a dual to Central Lakes Conference and Section 8AAA rival St. Cloud Apollo 45-30. They earned 137 points and had nine wrestlers place in the top five to take fifth place at the Paynesville Invite. Brady Goebel won their only championship and Drew Bienusa and Antone Thene both earned third place. They earned five fourth places including; John Pelach, Zach Motschke, Garret Counter, Zach Pederson and Jed Anderson and Nick Jenson took fifth place. This was without their top two wrestlers; so a pretty impressive performance by the Sabres. They split duals topping Royalton 55-12 and losing to the No. 11A Holdingford 54-15. They earned fourth place at the Staples-Motley "Don Dravis" Duals with a win over Staples-Motley 39-36, in the semifinals they dropped a dual to No. 11AA Perham 39-23. In the third place match they dropped a very close dual to cross town rival St. Cloud Tech 38-28. Drew Bienusa and Daniel Vitale were both 3-0 at the Dravis duals.



BEMIDJI LUMBERJACKS

The Lumberjacks topped Section 7AA rival Hibbing 51-18. They are starting to get their wrestlers back into their lineup as indicated by a great showing at their "Rick Lee" Invitational with 146.5 points and eight wrestlers placing in the top four to earn fourth place. Brian Maas won their only championship and Logan Crosby, Craig Maas, Colton Doty and Kodi Craft all earned second place. Kade Johnson and Alex Johnson both earned third place and Dylan Sauceda earned fourth place. Bemidji dropped a big dual to Section 8AAA rival Brainerd 45-18. They topped up and coming Class A Blackduck/Cass Lake/Bena 38-28 and dropped a dual to AA rival Fosston-Bagley 38-35. The Lumberjacks had a great tourney performance with 128.5 points and seven wrestlers placing in the top four to earn fourth place at the Thief River Falls "Prowlers" Invitational. Brian Maas and Kodi Craft both earned second place and Logan Crosby, Craig Maas, Kade Johnson and Brenden Fredricksen earned third place and Dylan Sauceda earned fourth place.


MOORHEAD SPUDS


The Spuds topped Section 8AA rival Detroit Lakes 42-24 and Section 8A rival Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 39-24 and they dropped a dual to No. 9A ranked Badger-Greenbush-Middle River 57-21 at the Detroit Lakes quadrangular. The Spuds had a great tourney performance as they went 3-1 at their Rod Gadberry Invitational with big wins over North Dakota foes; they topped No. 8A Mandan, North Dakota 39-35, No. 7A Grand Forks Central 42-29 and Jamestown, ND 36-24 and they dropped a very close dual to Section 8AAA rival Brainerd 38-34. Mikey Zupan, A. J. Wheeler and Chase Morlock all were 4-0 at the Gadberry Duals. Chase Morlock won his 100th Career Match on Saturday. The Spuds had a great tourney performance with 166 points and eleven wrestlers placing in the top five to earn second place at the Lake Park "Terry Teiken" Invitational. Tom Wychor and Chase Morlock won championships and Grant Brendemahl earned second place. Brendan Edner, Kenny Mark, Mike Zupan and Ben Herbst all earned third place. Nick Lorenzen and Taylor Laidlaw both earned fourth place and Ryan Schock took fifth place.

ST. CLOUD TECH TIGERS

The Tigers topped Central Lakes Conference rival Rocori 46-22. The Tigers went 1-2 at the Kiffmeyer Duals with a big win over cross town rival Sauk Rapids 37-31. They dropped a very close dual to St. Cloud Apollo 36-34 and to the No. 4AAA ranked Saint Michael-Albertville 49-18. Bryant Amundson and Austin Klaverkamp were both 3-0 at the Kiffmeyer duals. The Tiger had a great tourney performance at the Staples-Motley "Don Dravis" Duals with a quarterfinal win over Yellow Medicine 50-22; they dropped their semifinal dual to No. 2A ranked Kimball 49-21. In the third place match the Tigers topped cross town rival Sartell 38-28 in a very exciting dual. Tommy O'Brien, Maurice Martin and Jerrad Nieland were all 3-0 at the Dravis Duals.

SAUK RAPIDS STORM

The Storm dropped a Central Lakes Conference dual to Willmar 39-24. They went 0-3 at the St. Cloud Tech "Kiffmeyer" Duals. They lost to No. 2AAA ranked Albert Lea 54-13, No. 5AAA ranked Cambridge-Isanti 51-18 and to cross town rival St. Cloud Tech 37-31. The Storm dropped a dual to soon to be ranked Central Lakes Conference Brainerd 52-15.

ELK RIVER ELKS


The Elks dropped a dual to the No. 4AAA ranked Saint Michael-Albertville 66-6. They topped Northwest Suburban Conference rival Andover 34-29. The Elks earned sixth place with 110.5 points at their invitational. Evan Caldon, Mitch Barudry and Kyle Wiemann all earned second place, Garrett Caldon earned third place. Justi Gagnon earned fourth place and Kevin Weeks took fifth place.

BUFFALO BISON

The Bison went 1-3 at the Monticello "Magic" duals; they lost to Osseo 49-24, Shakopee 42-24, Faribault 44-18 and they did top AAA foe Alexandria 52-26. Tanner Maus was 4-0 and Cedric Jimenez, Adam Treptua and Lucas Mock were all 3-1 at the Monticello duals. The Bison dropped duals to Mississippi 8 Conference foe Rogers 48-27 and to Section 6AAA foe Mound Westtonka 51-24.

ROCORI SPARTANS

The Spartans dropped a Central Lakes Conference dual to St. Cloud Tech 46-22. They earned eighth place at the Paynesville "Bulldog" Invitational with 90 points and six place winners. Adam Kunz and Jordan Hemmesch both earned second place and Sam Kuss earned third place. Seth Klein and Tyler Hoffman both earned fourth place and Kolton Ressemann took fifth place.The Spartans topped AA rival Albany 48-31. They went 0-3 at the Hopkins quadrangular; they lost to Minnetonka 48-36, Hopkins 41-33 and Armstrong 41-33. Jordan Hemmesch and Sam Kuss were both 3-0 at the Hopkins quad.

ALEXANDRIA CARINDALS

The Cardinals dropped a pair of duals at the Litchfield triangular to AA foes; Litchfield 50-12 and Dassel-Cokato 49-18. They went 0-4 at the Monticello "Magic" duals, dropping duals to Annandale-Maple Lake 62-18, Faribault 57-21, Hopkins 54-24 and Buffalo 52-26.


CLASS A TEAMS

KIMBALL CUBS

The Cubs topped Central Minnesota Conference and Section 5A rival Eden Valley-Watkins 60-15. They also topped the field of teams at their quadrangular with wins over No. 9AA Hutchinson 40-28, AA Staples-Motley 65-12 and Yellow Medicine East 66-9. Travis Schiefelbein, Alex Thurber, Travis Wills, Caramon Hansen, Tanner Mills, Mitchell McKee and Quinten Berres were all 3-0 at the quadrangular. They topped three teams at the Mora quadrangular with big wins over AA Mora 54-12, AA Zimmerman 55-8 and Ogilvie 67-0. Quinten Berres, Caramon Hansen, Jordan Joseph, Travis Schiefelbein, Tim Konz and Alex Thurber were all 3-0 at the quad. The Cubs topped three foes at the Staples-Motley "Don Dravis" Duals with a win in the quarter-final over 7A team Crosby-Ironton 58-18, AAA St. Cloud Tech 49-21 and No. 11AA ranked Perham 42-30. Tanner Mills, Marcus Hamer, Travis Schiefelbein, Travis Wills, Tim Konz, and Quinten Berres were all 3-0 at the Dravis duals.

ATWATER-COSMOS-GROVE CITY FALCONS

The Falcons topped the field of teams at the Minnewaska "Laker" Duals with big wins over No. 3A Minneota 35-27, Class A Lean and Mean Border West 45-24 and Section 5A rival Minnewaska 48-18. Hayden Rouser, Matt Meyer and James Nelson were all 3-0 at the Laker duals. The Falcons used several wrestlers at this event. They had a great performance as they earned 260.5 points and a total of sixteen place winners to win the championship at the New London-Spicer "Wildcat" Invitational. Tyler Berghuis, Hayden Rouser, Matt Meyer, Larry Bomstad, James Nelson and Jordan Fester all won championships. Robert Rasmussen, Maverick Whitcomb and Lucas Damm all earned second place and Logan Peterson and Lee Whitcomb earned third place. Jesse Whitcomb and Matt Whitcomb both earned fourth place and Derek Dengerud, Jacob Peterson and T. J. Hoffman all took fifth place. The very next day after the New London-Spicer they competed in the Hutchinson "Tigers" Invitational where they seem just a little tired but still manage to have a solid performance with 202.5 points and thirteen place winners to earned second place. Robert Rassmusen, Hayden Rouser, Logan Peterson, Matt Meyer and Larry Bomstad all won championships. Tyler Berghuis earned second place, Maverick Whitcomb and James Nelson all earned third place. Matthew Whitcomb earned fourth place and Derek Degerud, Jordan Fester, T. J. Hoffman and Jacob Peterson all took fifth place.


KERKHOVEN-MURDOCK-SUNBURG FIGHTING SAINTS

The Fighting Saints topped Camden Conference rival Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 62-6. They topped three foes at the Osakis "Silverstreaks" Duals to earn the championship. They topped AA foe Pequot Lakes/Pine River/Backus 49-15, Section 5A foe Browerville/Eagle Valley 58-15 and Section 6A foe Ottertail Central 51-21. Nick Meyer, Cody Peters, Zach Carlson and Isaac Froelich all were 3-0 at the Osakis duals. They dropped a dual to No. 5AA ranked New London-Spicer 30-22 in a very good dual. It saw New London-Spicer winning four 1 or 2 points matches. They also dropped a dual to the No. 3A ranked Minneota 35-19.

PIERZ PIONEERS

The Pioneers topped a pair of Central Minnesota Conference rivals AA Lean and Mean Rockford 43-22 and Eden Valley-Watkins 60-12. Also a pair huge Section 7A wins over rival Mille Lacs 60-13 and Ogilvie 72-7. They also topped AA Hinckley-Finlayson 52-22. They topped three foes at the quadrangular with big wins over Class A Lean and Mean Paynesville 40-16, Section 6A foe Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale 70-9 and Section 7A foe Crosby-Ironton 62-5. Kolton Eischens, Evan Woitalla, Chris Ortman, Jordan Goebel, Brad Meyer, Nathan Tomala, Dustin Waytashek and Riley Smude were all 3-0 at the quad.

HOLDINGFORD HUSKIERS

The Huskiers topped Central Minnesota Conference rival Howard Lake/Waverly/Winsted 47-24. They had a great tournament performance as they earned 180.5 points and had ten wrestlers place in the top five to earn second place at the Paynesville "Bulldogs" Invitational. Mike Jarnot, Jordan Gombos, Zach Scott and Trevor Scott all won championships. Mitch Messman earned second place and Adam Lane, Kyle Gerads and Mitch Merten all earned third place. Jason Jarnot earned fourth place and Clem Gerads took fifth place. They topped Central Minnesota Conference rival Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 39-22. The Huskiers topped Central Minnesota and Section 7A rival Royalton 56-21 and AA Sartell 54-15.


BORDER WEST BUCCANEERS


The Buccaneers topped South Dakota rival Sisseton 47-30 in their border battle. They went 1-2 at the Minnewaska "Laker" Duals with a win over Minnewaska 52-30 and they dropped duals to No. 3A ranked Minneota 48-22 and to No. 5A ranked Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 45-24. Cameron Sykora and Charlie Maanum were both 3-0 at the Minnewaska duals. The split duals topping Section 5A foe Osakis 49-8, but they did drop a huge Section 6A dual to New York Mills 39-38. The Buccaneers had two place winners at the Lisbon "Storhaug" Invitational; Cam Sykora won the championship at 106 and Gus McCarthy earned third place.


PAYNESVILLE BULLDOGS

The Bulldogs had a great tournament performance to earn third place with 177.5 points and placing twelve wrestlers in the top five at their Invitational. Jacob Mages won their only championship and Cole Woehler and Clay Spanier both earned second place. Josh Hiepler, Jon Dorf, Caleb Burris and Michael Ludwig all earned third place. Jordan Karels, Derek Ludwig and Tanner Harder all earned fourth place and Damian Viessman and Dominick Platow took fifth place. Congratulations to Dominick Platow on winning his 100th Career Match. The Bulldogs topped two foes at the Pierz quadrangular with wins over Section 6A foe Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale 49-19 and Crosby-Ironton 57-12 and they dropped a dual to No. 10A ranked Pierz 40-16. Cole Woehler, Clay Spanier and Josh Heipler were all 3-0 at the quad.

BELGRADE-BROOTEN-ELROSA JAGUARS

The Jaguars lost t0 Section 5A rival Osakis on criteria 37-36 and they dropped a dual on criteria to Royalton 33-32. They had a good tourney performance as they had 98.5 points and six wrestlers place in the top five at the Paynesville "Bulldogs" Invitational. Patrick Rooney and Dillon Knutson both won championships and Tyler Tensen and Alex Schramel both earned second place. Austin Jaeger and Matt Schmitz both took fifth place. The Jaguars dropped a Central Minnesota Conference dual 39-22 to No. 11A Holdingford 39-22. They earned fourth place at the New London-Spicer "Wildcats" Invitational with 129.5 points and eight place winners including championships by Tyler Tensen and Patrick Rooney. Dillon Knutson and Josey Tensen both earned third place, Alex Schramel and Lee Borgerding both earned fourth place and Jared Steffenson took fifth place.

AITKIN GOBBLERS

The Gobblers topped Great River Conference rival Cloquet 63-12 and Ashland, Wis. 53-18 in action in Cloquet. They dropped a dual to AA Lean and Mean Grand Rapids 37-28. They had a good tournament performance with 143 points and eight wrestlers placing in the top five at the Bemidji "Rick Lee" Invitational. They earned fifth place with two championships by Brian Wold and Jordan Chouanard. Adam Bast earned second place, Jarod Novak earned third place and Alan Bast and Cooper Blau both earned fourth place. Jack Braton and Shawn Phillip both took fifth place at the Bemidji tourney. The Gobblers topped two Section 7A foes Mille Lacs 49-17 and Crosby-Ironton 69-6. They topped a big rival a section 7AA foe Hibbing 54-20.

NEW YORK MILLS EAGLES

The Eagles topped Park Region Conference rival Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale 41-31 and dropped one to the No. 11AA ranked Perham 49-22. The Eagles had a pair of big wins over Section 6A rival Border West 39-38 and Park Region Conference rival Osakis 40-22. The Eagles had another pair of huge dual meet wins with a win over Section 6A rival Barnesville 37-31 and Park Region Conference rival Browerville/Eagle Valley 46-28. With the win over Barnesville they should have earned the number one seed in the section 6A dual meet campaign. They had a good showing at the Lake Park "Terry Teiken" Invitational with 147 points to earn third place. Shane Novak, Noah Pesola and Jermiah Harper all won championships. Maison Roberts earned second place, Max Carlson earned fourth place and Tyler Ehnert and Brian Pyle took fifth place.

UNITED NORTH CENTRAL


The Warriors topped AA Staples-Motley. The earned fourth place at the Mahonmen-Waubun "Cougar" Duals with a quarter-final win over Wadena-Deer Creek 5-22. They dropped semifinal dual to No. 9A Badger-Greenbush-Middle River 54-21 and to a much improved Blackduck/Cass Lake/Bena team 42-30 in the third place dual. Sam Tellers, Dylan Huttunen and Taylor Carlson were all 3-0 at the Cougar duals. They topped Park Region Conference rival Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale 45-33 and lost to AA Lean and Mean Pequot Lakes/Pine River/Backus 50-22.

BRECKENRIDGE COWBOYS

The Cowboys topped Section 6A rival Pelican Rapids 54-14 and dropped a dual to No. 11AA ranked Perham 49-12. The Cowboys had a great tournament performance with 174 points and eight wrestlers placing in the fop four to win the championship at the Parker Prairie "Panthers" Invitational. Six championships were won by the Cowboys; Stephen and Greg Erlandson, Condrad Kondos, Jesse Differding, Josh Stuehrenberg and Josh Peterson. Michael Whitney earned second place and Cole Praus earned fourth place. The Cowboys topped Section 6A rival West Central Area 46-27. They had three place winners at the Lisbon "Storhoug" Invitational; Stephen Erlandson earned second place and Conrad Kondos and Greg Erlandson both earned third place.

BOLD WARRIORS

The Warriors topped AA Tracy-Milroy 38-27 and lost to AA Morris Area 44-23. In their triangular they topped AAA New Ulm 66-6 and Redwood Valley 60-13. They dropped a dual Class A Lean and Mean Zumbrota-Mazzeppa 49-25. They dropped a dual to AAA rival Willmar 47-17. They dropped a dual to their rival and No. 5A ranked Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 51-18.

ROYALTON ROYALS

The Royals topped Central Minnesota Conference Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 34-33 on criteria and they dropped a very close dual to Osakis 40-37. They had 94 points at the Bemidji "Rick Lee" Invitational with four place winners including a pair of championships by Andy Poster and Mitch Lange. Cory Wensmann earned second place and Tyler Hegna earned fourth place. The Royals topped Park Region Conference foe Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 48-19. They dropped a pair of duals to Central Minnesota Conference and No. 11A Holdingford 56-21 and to AAA Sartell 55-12.

CLASS AA TEAMS

FOLEY FALCONS


The Falcons topped two Granite Ridge Conference foes over Princeton 66-3 and Zimmerman 73-3. They earned third place at the St. Cloud Tech "Kiffmeyer" Duals with their quarterfinal win over St. Cloud Apollo 53-24. They dropped a dual to No. 4AAA ranked Saint Michael-Albertville 32-28 in a very good dual. The Falcons topped No. 2AAA ranked Albert Lea 39-26 to earned their third place medals. Tyler Bemboom, Taylor Lewandowski, Nick Lefebvre and Sam Olson were all 3-0 at the Kiffmeyer Duals. The Falcons had a big win over their big rival Granite Ridge Conference and No. 7AA ranked Milaca 40-15.

NEW LONDON-SPICER WILDCATS

The Wildcats topped a pair of Section 6AA foes over Annandale-Maple Lake 43-24 and Albany 36-15. The topped No. 7A ranked Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 30-22 in a very exciting dual. The Fighting Saints dropped four matches by two points or less. The Wildcats earned second place at their Invitational with 238 points and thirteen place winners. Jacob Stageberg, Chase Austvold, Dylan Hanson and Grant Vagle all won championships. Oden Rogers, Cameron Steffen, Kyle Cappelen and Tanner Tobkin all earned second place and Brandon Kingsley earned third place. Logan Eckhoff, Jarett Hatlestad and Ricky Berry all earned fourth places.

DAWSON-BOYD/LQPV UNITED

The United topped three foes at the Sibley East "Wolverine" Quadrangler with wins over Sibley East 50-16, Cretin-Derham Hall 72-6 and St. Angnes 67-6. Action Herman, John Weeding, Joe Weeding and Sam Haas were all 3-0 at the quadrangular. The United crew topped Section 3AA rival Tracy Milroy 45-26 and Section 3A rival Yellow Medicine East 57-13. The United crew topped two foes at the Tracy-Milroy Duals with wins over Fulda-Murray County 62-11 and Jackson County Central's Junior Varsity 78-0; before dropping a very close dual to No. 4A ranked Minneota 35-32. T. J. Fulton, John Weeding, Garth Ochsendorf, Joe Weeding, Sam Haas, Jordan Staab, J. D. Struxness and Jared Roiland were all 3-0 at the Tracy-Milroy duals.

MILACA WOLVES

The Wolves topped Granite Ridge Conference foe Little Falls 47-25. They earned second place at the Mounds View "Mustang" Duals with wins over AAA Tartan 54-21, AAA Maple Grove 54-12 and Section 7AA rival North Branch 40-27. They lost a close dual to No. 9AAA ranked Owatonna 32-27. Josh Otten, Jonah Gahn, Chris Newgaard and Joey Curtis were all 4-0 and Joe Moscho, Dylan Czech, Jake Earl, Brandon Mertin and Jordan Ahner were all 3-1 at the Mustang duals. They dropped a big dual to their biggest rival; Granite Ridge Conference foe Foley 40-15.

BECKER BULLDOGS

The Bulldogs topped No. 10AA ranked and Mississippi 8 Conference rival Monticello 44-21. They topped the teams at the Becker "Bulldog" Invitational with wins over AAA Andover 55-16, AA Delano 42-15 and AA Fergus Falls 34-25. Zach Zimmer and Matt Sadlowsky were both 3-0 at the Bulldog duals.

MORA MUSTANGS

The Mustangs topped AA Dassel Cokato 34-33. They topped two foes in their triangular; one was a win over Granite Ridge rival Zimmerman 57-8 and Class A Ogilvie 48-19. They lost to No. 2A Kimball 54-12.

MONTICELLO MAGIC

The Magic dropped a Mississippi 8 Conference dual to rival Becker 44-21. The Magic had a good tourney performance at their "Magic" Duals with wins over AAA Willmar 35-31 and AAA Faribault 37-30. they dropped duals to AAA Shakopee 44-22 and to AA Annandale-Maple Lake 38-36. Eric Bourgeois, Seth Gardner and Nic Grimley were all 4-0 at the Magic duals. They dropped a dual to AAA Coon Rapids 31-17 and they topped Mississippi 8 Conference foe Big Lake.

CHISAGO LAKES WILDCATS

The Wildcats topped North Suburban Conference rival Spring Lake Park 57-16, AAA Osseo 24-12 and Section 7AA rival Hinckley-Finlayson 40-27. They had a very good tournament performance as they earned 177.5 points and eight wrestlers in the finals to earn second place at the Hinckley-Finlayson "Jaguar" Invitational. Kyle Schoenecker, Dylan Connell, William Pool, Jonah Westbury and Chase Kammerer all won championships. Quade Zupko, Bobby Sontag and Mark Sontag all earned second place. The Wildcats topped North Suburban Conference rival St. Francis 33-30.

FERGUS FALLS OTTERS

The Otters dropped a dual to No. 8A ranked Frazee 45-18. They went 2-1 at the Becker "Bulldog" Duals with wins over 6AA foe Litchfield 34-30 and AAA foe Blaine 36-27. They did drop the championship dual to No. 8AA ranked Becker 34-25. Abbot Aho, Tyler Giza, Alex Johnson and Hayden Zenner were all 3-0 at the Becker duals. The Otters topped Central Lakes Conference rival Alexandria 50-21. The Otters had a great tourney performance with 206 points and twelve placing in the top four; to win the championship at the Lake Park "Terry Teiken" Invitational. Alex Johnson, Justin Poljewski and Tyler Giza won championships and Abbot Aho, Matt Laugen, Walker Heinen, Abraham Aho and Hayden Zenner all earned second place. Gus Makowsky and Dane Ringquist both earned third place and Tommy Weaver and Ben Schindler both earned fourth place.

PEQUOT LAKE/PINE RIVER-BACKUS ROAD CREW

The Road Crew topped Section 8A foe Blackduck/Cass Lake/Bena 57-18. The Crew topped two foes at the Osakis "Silverstreaks" Duals with wins over Class A Browerville-Eagle Valley 66-12 and Osakis 49-21. They dropped their first dual of the season to 7A ranked Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 49-15. Jace Loge and Derek Sonesthal were both 3-0 at the Osakis duals. The Road Crew topped United North Central 50-22.


MORRIS AREA TIGERS


The Tigers rolled over West Central Conference rival BOLD 44-23 and topped Section 3AA rival Tracy-Milroy 42-31. They had a great tournament showing as they earned 185.5 points and had ten wrestlers place in the top five, to win the championship at the Paynesville "Bulldogs" Invitational. Tim Ostby, Joel Harrison and Zach Gibson all won championships and Evan Nelson, Jordan Thooft and Connor Metzger all earned second place. Travis Ostby and Myles Smith both earned third place, Wade Ehlers earned fourth place and Seth Nelson took fifth place. The Tigers topped West Central Conference foe Montevideo 35-25 and they dropped a dual to No. 4A Wabasso/Red Rock Central 50-15.

ANNANDALE-MAPLE LAKE LIGHTNING

The Lightning topped the field of teams at the Monticello "Magic" Duals with wins over AAA Hopkins 44-18, AAA Alexandria 63-18, No. 10AA Monticello 38-36 and AAA Shakopee 33-31. Jake Laudenbach, Jordan Hanan, Teddy Erickson and Derek Rachel were all 4-0 at the Magic Duals. The Lightning have most of the wrestlers back in the lineup as they topped former Wright County Conference rival Watertown-Mayer 41-26. They had a great tournament performance with 232.5 points and all fourteen wrestlers placing in the top five. Jordan Hanan and Cruz Johnson both won championships and Tanner Vassar, Joe Mosley, Nick Anderson, Teddy Erickson, Justin Lehtola and Tom Condon all earned second place. Jake Laudenbach, Tyler Mies and Derek Rachel all earned third place, Hunter Hick earned foruth place and Hunter Thiel took fifth place.

ROCKFORD ROCKETS

The Rockets topped Central Minnesota Conference rivals Eden Valley-Watkins 45-32, BBE 35-32 and dropped a dual to another conference rival No. 9A ranked Pierz 43-22. They topped Section 5AA foe Brooklyn Center 46-13 and Minneapolis Henry 49-22. They dropped duals to AAA Maple Grove 40-35 and Irondale 50-24. The Rockets had a great tourney showing with 187 points and ten place winners in the top five to earned second place at the Zimmerman "Thunder" Invitational. Ty Griffin, Zach Johnson, John Pepdepenning and Mike Gaspar all won championships and Danny Lynch, Brad Johnson and Zach Klonne all earned second place. Adam Jakuboski earned third place and Daniel Pane and Max Gulzvig both took fifth place.

CENTRAL MINNESOTA MAT RATS EARLY JANUARY REPORT (17th Annual)

CLASS AA TEAMS

FOLEY FALCONS

The Falcons topped Granite Ridge Conference foe and No. 11AA Mora 46-18. They topped AAA foe Elk River in dominating fashion by a score of 55-9. They topped the field of teams at the Dassel-Cokato "Charger" Duals with convincing wins over No. 9AA Monticello 51-8, Section 6AA foe Dassel-Cokato 46-18 and AAA foe Shakopee 38-21. Tristan Manderfeld, Tyler Jensen, Nick Lefebvre, Chevy Gobel, Tony Kipka, Luke Kelvington, Tyer Bemboom and Taylor Lewandowski were 3-0 in the duals. The Falcons had an impressive showing at the Fargo "Rumble on the Red" Invitational with 184.5 points to earned fourth place in this 60 plus field of teams despite the fact they were missing two of their most experienced wrestlers. Tyler Funk (5-1), Taylor Lewandowski (4-1) and Tristan Manderfeld (4-1) all earned second place. Chevy Goble earned sixth place and was 6-3 over the weekend. Tyler Beehler earned seventh place and went 5-2, Nick Lefebvre earned seventh place and was 4-2 and Sam Olson earned seventh place and went 3-2 over the weekend. Tyler Bemboom took eighth place and was 3-3 over the weekend. The Falcons dominated the fourteen team field of teams at 2nd Annual Tom Keating Memorial Invitational with 303 points and all fourteen wrestlers placing in the top six. The Falcons won seven championship; Tyler Funk, Tristan Manderfeld, Tyler Jenson, Tyler Bemboom, Taylor Lewandowski, Nick Lefebvre and Tony Kipka. Sam Olson earned second place and a trio of thirds by Logan Lunde, Chevy Goble and Mitch Keeler. Teren Kampa earned fourth place, Tyler Beehler earned fifth place and Carter Nielsen took sixth place.


NEW LONDON-SPICER WILDCATS

The Wildcats topped three foes at the Dassel-Cokato "Charger" Duals with wins over AA Lean and Mean Becker 39-27, No. 9AA ranked Monticello 54-23 and Section 6AA rival Dassel-Cokato 52-12. Chase Austvold, Dylan Hanson, Tanner Tobkin, Jakob Stageberg, Kyle Cappelen and Trey Austvold were all 3-0 at the Charger duals. The Wildcats topped West Central Conference foe Minnewaska 71-6. The Wildcats had a good showing at the Fargo "Rumble on the Red" Invitational with 110 points to earned twelfth place in this 60 plus field of teams. Chase Austvold had a great tourney performance as he went 6-1 to earn third place. Tanner Tobkin had a very good tourney as he went 5-2 and earned fifth place. Thomas Stageburg went 4-2 and Corbin Schwartz was 3-2 but neither wrestler earned a place. The Wildcats dropped a very close dual to No. 3A ranked Kimball 33-28 and they defeated West Central North Conference rival Paynesville 61-20. The Wildcats defended their title at the Perham "Barrel O'Fun" Invitational with 236 points and twelve wrestlers placing in the top five. Four championships were earned by Jacob Stageberg, Treyton Austvold, Chase Austvold and Dylan Hanson. Tanner Tobkin, Grant Vagle and Cameron Steffen all earned second place. Kyle Cappelen and David Nething both earned third place, Logan Brink earned fourth place and a pair fifths were earned by Oden Rogers and Ricky Berry.


DAWSON-BOYD/LQPV UNITED

The United had a great tourney performance with 161 points at the 28 team Redwood Valley “River Riot” Invitational to earned second place. They had seven wrestlers place in the top eight with John Weeding and Sam Hass both winning championships. J. D. Struxness and Brandon Schmidt both earned second place and Garth Ochsendorf earned third place. T. J. Fulton earned fourth place and Jordan Staab took eighth place. The United topped West Central South Conference and Section 3AA rival Morris Area 40-24. They split duals with ranked class A rivals as they topped No. 10 ranked Border West 54-17 and they lost to No. 8A ranked Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 36-24. The United dropped a very close dual to AAA Eden Prairie 36-33 and they topped West Central South Conference rival BOLD 42-24. The United Coop topped the field of teams at the Montevideo "Dave Roder Memorial" Invitational with 169.5 points and ten wrestlers placing in the top five. Sam Haas, Jordan Staab, T. J. Fulton, John Weeding, J. D. Struxness and Brandon Schmitt all won championships. Garth Oshsendorf earned second place and Juvernal Olvers earned third place. Jordan Bothun and Kieth Abraham both earned fourth place. John Weeding was voted by the Head Coaches as the Outstanding Wrestling and J. D. Struxness and Brandon Schmitt both won their 60th career matches. They topped three foes at their quadrangular with wins over three 3AA foes: Windom Area 43-30, Montevideo 48-27 and Fulda/MCC 45-19. T. J. Fulton, John Weeding, Garth Oschendorf, Sam Haas, Juvenal Olvera, J. D. Struxness and Brandon Schmitt were all 3-0 at the quadrangular.


MILACA WOLVES


The Wolves topped No. 9A ranked Pierz 47-16 and Section 7AA and Granite Ridge Conference foe Princeton 54-15. In a very good dual they topped Section 7AA rival Chisago Lakes 31-27. The Wolves ran into a hot AAA Lean and Mean St. Cloud Apollo team where they came up a little short 50-22. They flexed their muscles prior to the holiday break with huge wins over AAA Buffalo 59-12, AAA Spring Lake Park 51-17 and AA Orono 72-8 at the Buffalo “Bison” Quadrangular. Mike Hoffman, Jordan Ahner, Chris Newgard, Joe Moscho, Ray Hoffman, Joey Curtis, Jake Earl and Jonah Gahm were all 3-0 at the quadrangular. Special congratulations goes to Jonah Gahm as he won his 100th career match at the quadrangular. The Wolves started the 2012 portion of their schedule as they crushed Section 7AA foe Cloquet 80-0. They earned second place at the Farmington "Tiger" Duals with a quarterfinal win over Lake City 37-18 and in the semifinals they topped AAA Park High School 33-25. They dropped the championship to AAA Lean and Mean Lakeville North 37-29. Hunter Noor, Joey Curtis, Joe Moscho, Jonah Gahn and Justin Ladehoff were all 3-0 at the Farmington duals.


BECKER BULLDOGS


The Bulldogs have had some very impressive performances thus far coming without all their wrestlers in the lineup. They scored 119.5 points to earned fourth place at the fifteen team field event at the Brainerd “Paul Bunyan” Invitational with seven place winners. Colten Vekved and Luke Schmalz both earned third place and Zach Zimmer, Cory Nelson, Mike Soule and Brady Kurtz all earned fourth place. Jake Toedter earned fifth place and Mike Smith took seventh place. The Bulldogs topped Section 6AA neighbor Big Lake 38-24. They were very impressive at the Dassel Cokato “Charger” Duals even thou they went 1-2. They topped Section 6AA foe Dassel Cokato 43-25, before dropping duals to No. 5AA and Section 6AA New London-Spicer 39-27 soon to be ranked AAA foe Shakopee 39-29. Matt Sadlowsky, Colten Vekved and Jake Toedter won all their matches at the Charger Duals. They really flexed their pre-holiday muscles at the Melrose/Sauk Centre quadrangular, with wins over Granite Ridge Conference and No. 11AA rival Mora 39-25, Granite Ridge Conference foe Princeton 54-15 and Section 6AA rival Melrose/Sauk Centre 61-3. Cory Nelson, Luke Schmaltz, Colten Vekved, Mike Soule and Matt Sadlowsky all were 3-0 at the quadrangular. The Bulldogs had a very impressive showing at the Fargo "Rumble on the Red" Invitational with 112 points. This is a elite 60 plus field of teams, with many nationally ranked individuals. Mike Smith earned fourth place with a 7-2 mark for the weekend. Cory Nelson had a very impressive tourney as he earned seventh place with a 6-2 mark for the weekend. Mike Soule also had a great tournament performance as he earned sixth place with a 5-4 mark. Matt Sadlowsky earned seventh place with a 4-2 mark. Colton Vekved didn't place but he earned a 4-2 mark for the weekend. Congratulations to Matt Sadlwosky as he won his 75th career match at the Rumble on the Red. The Bulldogs had a very impressive tourney performance at the BBE Tourney with thirteen wrestlers placing in the top four to earn third place with 169.5 points. Colten Vekved had a very impressive showing to earn his championship. Matt Sadlowsky, Brady Kurtz, Zach Zimmer and Luke Schmalz all earned second places. Boden Lorette, Mike Smith, Mike Soule and Sam Kirchner all earned third places. Jake Toedter, Cody Ferris, Caleb Vekved and Cory Nelson all earned fourth places.


MORA MUSTANGS


The Mustangs have had strong showings with big wins over Section 7AA rival North Branch 56-18, Class A neighbor Mille Lacs 58-17. They dropped a dual to No. 2AA ranked and Granite Ridge Conference rival Foley 46-18. The Mustangs were 2-1 at the Melrose/Sauk Centre quadrangular with big wins over Section 7AA and Granite Ridge Conference foe Princeton 50-25 and Section 6AA foe Melrose/Sauk Centre 60-7. They dropped a dual to soon to be ranked AA Becker 39-25. Thomas Hischer, Brandon Lucking and Ken Kastenbauer were all 3-0 at the quadrangular. The Mustangs split a pair of duals as they crushed Albany 69-9 and lost to No. 10A ranked Pierz 36-31. The Mustangs had a great tourney with 216 points and thirteen wrestlers placing in the top five to earned the championship of the Mustang Invitational. Ken Kastenbauer and Brent Nelson both earned championships. Brandon Lucking, Jordan Tober and Austin Richard all earned second place. Nick Kastenbauer and Brady Beier both earned third place. Drew VanVlett, Tom Hischer, Blake Poole, Reed Gmahl and Zach Smith all earned fourth place and Eric Podvin took fifth place.


MONTICELLO MAGIC


The Magic are having a bit of a struggle against some quality teams; they dropped a dual to Mississippi 8 Conference and No. 2AAA ranked Saint Michael-Albertville 51-18. They went 0-3 at the Dassel-Cokato “Charger” Duals; they lost to soon to be ranked Shakopee 49-15, No. 2AA ranked Foley 51-15 and No. 5AA ranked New London-Spicer 50-30. Tevin Zavadil was the lone Magic wrestler that was 3-0 at the Charger Duals. The Magic topped Mississippi 8 Conference rival Buffalo 53-18 and they dropped a dual to No. 2AAA ranked Saint Michael-Albertville 51-18. They earned fifth place at the 2nd Annual Foley "Tom Keating Memorial" Invitational with 121.5 points. Eric Bourgeois and Nic Grimley both won championships and Zach Beaumaster earned second place. Ross Henderson earned fourth place and Tevin Zavadil took fifth place.


CHISAGO LAKES WILDCATS


The Wildcats have had some very impressive performances thus far with a big win over North Suburban Conference rival Fridley 66-17; they lost a very close dual to Moundsview 34-36. They did drop a very close dual to Section 7AA rival and No. 8 ranked Milaca 31-27. The Wildcats had a great tourney showing by earning second place with 170 points and ten place winners at their “Wildcat” Invitational. Dylan Connell, Quade Zupko and Chase Kammerer all won championships. Kyle Schoenecker, Mark Sontag and Joe Virga all earned second place. Bobby Sontag and Jonah Westburg both earned third place and Nathan Grave earned fourth place. William Pool earned fifth place and Joe Valento and Kevin Schmidt both took sixth place. They split duals as they topped North Suburban Conference rival Irondale 36-33 and they lost to Lean and Mean New Richland-Heartland-Ellendale-Geneva 49-18.


STAPLES-MOTLEY CARDINALS


The Cardinals had an excellent tourney performance with 138.5 points and six place winners to earn third place at this thirty-two team event at the Cass Lake “Big Bear” Invitational. Blake Petrich won their lone championship and David DeYonge earned second place. Blaine Miller earned third place and Brent Lisson and Jordan Heldman both earned fourth place and Gage Brown took eighth place. The Cardinals topped Class A Section 6A rival Ottertail Central 47-28. The Cardinals are battling thru sickness, injuries and vocations at this point. They dropped a pair of Mid-State Conference duals and Section 8AA rivals Pequot Lakes/Pine River/Backus 48-24 and Park Rapids 49-28.

FERGUS FALLS OTTERS


The Otters of Fergus Falls had a great dual against a very good Section 8AAA, Central Lakes Conference foe, soon to be acknowledged in our Lean and Mean Sartell 37-29. They dropped two very close duals to Central Lakes Conference foes Brainerd 39-28 and Willmar 35-28. Both teams should also get some close looks as terms of ratings. The Otters earned 96.5 points at the Cass Lake “Big Bear” Invitational, a thirty-two team event, to earned twelfth place with four place winners. Abbot Aho and Matt Laugen both earned second place and Justinn Polejewski earned sixth place and Hayden Zenner took seventh place. The Otters are getting a few of their wrestlers back in the lineup. They had a great tourney performance as they earned 228 points and had all fourteen wrestlers place in the top five to win the championship at the Benson "Braves Classic" Invitational. Abbot Aho, Tyler Giza and Hayden Zenner won championships. Alex Johnson, Matt Laugen and Abram Aho all earned second place and Dave Ringquist, Walker Heinen, Justin Polejewski and Gus MaKovsky all earned third place. Ben Schindler earned fourth place and Coy Thorson, Karlen Hartwall and Tommy Weaver all took fifth place.

DASSEL-COKATO CHARGERS


The Chargers topped Wright County Conference rivals Delano 46-21. They played host to a quadrangular and they came away with two very good wins over Wright County Conference rival Glencoe-Silver Lake 44-27 and Section 6AA rival Big Lake 47-24. They dropped a dual to former Wright County foe now Minnesota Conference member Watertown-Mayer 39-30. Brient Pokornowski, Alex Bopp, Spencer Broberg and Andrew Madson were all 3-0 at the Charger quadrangular. The Chargers dropped a Wright County Conference dual to Hutchinson 50-15. They had a good tourney showing with 126 points to earn fourth place at the 2nd Annual Foley "Tom Keating Memorial" Invitational with seven place winners. Brient Pokornowski won the championship at 285 and Andrew Madson earned second place. Brett Abrahamson earned third place, Alex Bapp earned fourth place and Tom Keskey and Tarren Nordstrom both took fifth place at this fourteen team field of teams.


ROCKFORD ROCKETS


The Rockets had a good showing as they topped AA neighbor and huge rival Delano 51-19. They flexed their muscles with two big wins over Section 5AA rival Fridley 46-21 and class A foe Minneapolis Patrick Henry 57-18. They topped Central Minnesota Conference rival Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 35-32. The Rockets dominated the field of team at the Brooklyn Center "Centeur" Invitational with 250 points thirteen wrestlers placing in the top five. Five championships were won by John Redepenning, Adam Jakubowski, Ty Griffin, Brad Johnson and Daniel Paine. Danny Lynch and Zach Klonne both earned second place and Sasha Galka and Zach Johnson both earned third place. Colten Weber and Olek Galka both took fifth place. Congratulations to Ty Griffin as he was voted by the coaches as the Outstanding wrestler for the tourney.


PEQUOT LAKES/PINE RIVER/BACKUS ROAD CREW

The Road Crew flexed their muscles at the Nashwauk-Keewatin-Greenway Brawl with wins over three Section 7AA foes over host Nashwauk-Keewatin 42-32, Hibbing 61-15 and Virginia 71-9. Anthony Philipson, Triston Rubner, Drey Loge, Darian Rubner and Peter Harrison were all 3-0 at the Brawl. They earned fifth place with 135.5 points at the Cass Lake “Big Bear” Invitational with five places winners. This is a thirty-two team field of teams. Peter Harrison won their lone championship and Anthony Philipson earned second place. Darian Rubner earned third place, Drey Loge earned fifth place and Justin MacKunthun took sixth place. The Road Crew got the 2012 portion of their schedule with two big Mid-State Conference wins over Detroit Lakes 39-32 and Wadena-Deer Creek 58-13. The Road Crew topped two more Mid-
State Conference foes with big wins over Staples 48-24 and Park Rapids 51-16. These are also three big Section 8AA wins just the past week for the Crew.


MORRIS AREA/HANCOCK/CHOKIO ALBERTA TIGERS


The Tigers dropped a West Central South Conference dual to No. 10AA ranked Dawson-Boyd/Lac qui Parle Valley 40=24. The topped Class A Breckenridge 45-32. The Tigers scored 88.5 points to earned fourteenth place at the Cass Lake “Big Bear” Invitational. In this field of thirty-two teams they had three place winners; including Tim Ostby and Zach Gibson both earning second place and Joel Harrison earning seventh place. The Tigers started their portion of the 2012 schedule with a pair huge wins over West Central South Conference rivals Yellow Medicine South 43-15 and Minnewaska 57-12.


CLASS A TEAM


KIMBALL CUBS


The Cubs topped Central Minnesota Conference rival Holdingford 45-18 and AAA Central Lakes Conference foe 60-9. The Cubs defended their title at the Frazee “Les Kertscher” Duals with huge wins over AA Lean and Mean Perham 46-15 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals they topped No. 3 ranked Minneota 35-26 in a very good dual. In the championship they defeated the same team that just got by them in the state tourney last year and No. 6A ranked Lake Crystal-Wellcome-Memorial 39-22. Quentin Bryce, Alex Thurber, Tanner Mills, Quinten Berres, Mitchell McKee and Jordan Joseph were all 3-0 at the Kertscher Duals. The Cubs topped New London-Spicer No. 5AA ranked in a very close dual 33-28 and Section 5A rival and Lean and mean Paynesville 69-9. Congratulations to Alex Thurber on winning his 100th Career Match. They had a great tournament performance with 207.5 points and ten wrestlers placing in the top five to earn the championship of the Cannon Falls "Bombers" Invitational. The Cubs won four championships; Mitchell McKee, Tanner Mills, Travis Schiefelbein and Quentin Bryce. Quinten Berres, Marcus Hamer, Jordan Joseph and Alex Thurber earned second place. Travis Wills and Austin Schiefelbein both took fifth place.

ATWATER-COSMOS-GROVE CITY FALCONS

The Falcons topped two section 5A foes with very impressive performances over Belgrate-Brooten-Elrosa 48-13 and Eden Valley-Watkins 59-7. They flexed their preholiday muscles for dominating performance in their win over West Central South Conference rival Yellow Medicine East 68-4. The Falcons turned a few heads at the National Duals "The Clash" Invitational where they upset No. 15 nationally ranked Carl Sandburg, Illinois 34-29. They lost the flip and maybe they would have topped another ranked team No. 9 nationally ranked Christiansburg, Virginia slipped by the Falcons 35-31. They did drop their second dual of the first of the two day tourney to one of the topped ranked Georgia teams Jefferson 36-32. The Falcons dropped a dual to No. 1 (Div. 2) Luxemburg-Casco, Wisconsin 40-26 and to No. 2AAA ranked Saint Michael-Albertville 43-21. They did complete the tourney with an excellent team effort as they topped 6AAA ranked Coon Rapids 45-18. Larry Bomstad and James Nelson were both 6-0 and Matt Meyer was 5-1. Hayden Rouser, Tyler Berghuis, Lee Whitcomb and Marverich Whitcomb were all 4-2 and Jordan Fester was 3-3 at the National Duals. The Falcons topped West Central South Conference foe Benson 68-3. Congratulations to Hayden Rouser as he won his 175th career Match, Larry Bomstad won his 100th Career Match at The Clash and James Nelson won his 75th Career Match at The Clash. The Falcons crushed West Central Conference rival Benson 68-3.

KERKHOVEN-MURDOCK-SUNBURG FIGHTING SAINTS

The Fighting Saints had a very good performance at the Riverwood Valley “River Riot” Invitational where they earned third place in a strong field of twenty-eight teams. They score 149 points which included seven place winners. Jordan Rothers won their lone championship along with a trio of third place; Jordan Engler, Jessie Engler and Cody Peters. Zach Carlson earned fourth place, Lamberto Rodriquez earned seventh place and Kyle Baker took eighth place. The Fighting Saints topped No. 11A Border West 42-30 and No. 10AA ranked Dawson-Boyd/Lac qui Parle Valley 36-24. They really flexed their muscles before the holiday break with two big wins over Section 3A rivals Benson 66-12 and Ortonville 60-9. They topped AA rival Litchfield 56-13 and Section 3A rival MAC/RCW 62-12. The Fighting Saints had a very solid tourney performance with 201 points and twelve wrestlers placing in the top four to win the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa "Jaguar" Invitational No. 4A ranked Minneota and huge Section 3A rival by just 1.5 points. They won four championships; Jordan Engler, Cody Peters, Jessie Engler and Jordan Rothers. Having great performances were Lamberto Rodriquez, Zach Carlson, Isaac Froelich and Nick Meyer; they earned second place. Jared Krieger and Kyle Baker both earned third place at Belgrade.

PIERZ PIONEERS

The Pioneers topped section 7A foes in dominating fashion with wins over Royalton 46-22, Crosby-Ironton 68-3. They did have a very close dual with Section 7A rival and Lean and Mean foe Aitkin 37-33. The Pioneers split duals with a pair of AA rivals; they topped Princeton 52-21 and they lost to No. 8AA Milaca 47-16. Congratulations goes out Nathan Tomala he won his 100th career match during the Aitkin dual. The Pioneers topped No. 11AA ranked Mora 36-31 and AA Albany 57-17. The Pioneers also topped AAA Lean and Mean rival Little Falls 44-32 and AA Litchfield 40-27.

BORDER WEST BUCCANEERS


The Buccaneers earned sixth place at the Frazee “Les Kertscher” Duals with a consolation semifinal win over AAA Bemidji 44-36. They dropped their quarterfinal dual to No. 7A ranked Lake Crystal-Wellcome-Memorial 42-22 and soon to be ranked AAA Brainerd 45-30. Cameron Sykora, Austin Maanum and Charlie Maanum were all 3-0 at the Kertscher Duals. They dropped a pair of duals to ranked foes No. 10AA ranked Dawson-Boyd/LQPV 54-17 and to No. 8A Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 42-30. The Buccaneers earned 102 points to tie for third place at the Montevideo "Dave Roder Memorial" Invitational with eight place winners. Charlie Maanum, Austin Maanum and Cameron Sykora all won championships. Gus McCarthy earned second place and Peter Schmitz earned third place. Nick Stafford and Seth Callerilus both earned fourth place and Chalmer Combellich took fifth place. The Buccaneers earned 148.5 points to take third place at the Benson "Braves Classic" Invitational with nine wrestlers placing in the top five. The Huskiers have had some very impressive showings with huge wins over AA Melrose/Sauk Centre 54-25 and three Section 5A foes Osakis 53-21, Long-Prairie/Grey Eagle 51-24 and Minnewaska 61-15. They dropped a dual to No. 5A ranked Kimball 45-18. The Huskiers had a good tourney performance with 121.5 points to earn fifth place at the 2nd Annual Foley "Tom Keating Memorial" Invitational. Nine wrestlers placed in the top six in this fourteen team field of teams. Mike Jarnot won a championship at 138 with a win over the No. 5AAA ranked wrestler. Mitch Messman earned second place and a trio fourths were earned by: Zach Scott, Kyle Gerads and Mitch Merten. Trevor Scott and Kyle Kolstad both earned fifth place and Malcolm Dewar and Adam Lane both sixth place.

PAYNESVILLE BULLDOGS

The Bulldogs topped Section 5A foes Long Prairie/Grey Eagle 43-22 and Lean and Mean Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 38-21. They topped two West Central North Conference foes Melrose/Sauk Centre 43-25 and Albany 48-28. The Bulldogs dropped two duals to No. 3A ranked Kimball 69-9 and to West Central Conference rival New London-Spicer 61-12. The Bulldogs earned fifth place at the Farmington "Tiger" Duals. They dropped their quarterfinal dual to AAA Lean and Mean Lakeville North 39-28, in the Consolation semifinals they topped AAA Northfield 57-18 and in the fifth place dual they topped Section 1A foe Lake City 35-34. Jared Kuntsleben, Josh Hiepler and Dominick Platou were all 3-0 at the Tiger Duals.

BELGRADE-BROOTEN-ELROSA JAGUARS


The Jaguars topped Section 5A and Central Minnesota Conference rival Eden Valley-Watkins 40-27 and AA rival Melrose/Sauk Centre 45-27. They dropped a pair of duals to Section 5A foes No. 7A ranked Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 48-13 and Paynesville 38-21. The Jaguars dropped a very close dual to Central Minnesota Conference rival Rockford 35-32. They earned fourth place at their Inivitational with 90 points and six wrestlers placing in the top four. Patrick Rooney had a great tourney performance to win a championship at 170. Tyler Tensen, Daniel Rooney and Dillon Knutson all had great tournaments to earn second place. Austin Jaeger and Matt Schmitz both earned fourth place.

AITKIN GOBBLERS

The Gobblers earned seventh place at the Cass Lake “Big Bear” Invitational. They earned 125.5 points at this thirty-two team event with five place winners. Jordan Chouanard won a championship at 152 and Cooper Blau and Brian Wold earned fourth place. Isaac Novak earned sixth place and Colton LaPlante took seventh place. The Gobblers spit a pair of Section 7A duals as they topped Ogilvie 67-9 and lost to No. 10A Pierz 37-33 in a very close dual. They earned second place with 181 points and eleven place winners to earned second place at the Mora "Mustang" Invitational. Jerod Novak and Jordan Chouanard both won championships and Brian Wold and Isaac Novak both earned second place. Colton Laplante, Adam Jackson, Adam Bast and Alan Bast all earned third place. Jack Braton, Noah Landrus and Anthony Ashton all took fifth place.

NEW YORK MILLS EAGLES

The Eagles topped Park Region Conference rivals United North Central 36-29 and Parkers Prairie. They also topped Section 6A rival Pelican Rapids. They lost to AA Park Rapids with the aid of a couple of forfeits 42-36. The Eagles earned 75 points at the Cass Lake “Big Bear” Invitational to take nineteenth place with four place winners. Shane Novak won a championship at 113 and Maison Roberts and Tyler Patron both earned fourth place and Mike Meyer took eighth place. They flexed their pre-holiday muscles with huge wins over a pair of Section 6A teams; Parkers Prairie 42-12 and Pelican Rapids 62-12. The Eagles had a pair wins over a pair of Park Region Conference foes Royalton 40-31 and West Central Area 57-18. They earned 104 points with five wrestlers placing in the top five to take sixth place at the Perham "Barrel O'Fun" Invitational. Shane Novak won a championship at 113 beating a previously undefeated wrestler. Max Carlson earned second place, Jeremiah Harper and Noah Pesola earned fourth place and Austin Haman took fifth place.

UNITED NORTH CENTRAL WARRIORS

The Warriors topped a pair of Park Region Conference rivals Browerville/Eagle Bend 51-21 and Osakis 51-24. They dropped a very close dual to Park Region Conference rival New York Mills 36-29. The Warriors earned 75 points for nineteenth place with four place winners. Jake Malone earned fourth place, Taylor Carlson sixth place and Tommy Tellers and Max Pajari both took seventh place. The Warriors earned 89 points and five wrestlers place in the top five to take ninth place at the Perham "Barrel O'Fun" Invitational. Max Pajari,Tommy Tellers and Taylor Carlson all earned third place and Jake Malone earned fourth place. Mike Johnson and Dylan Huttunen both took fifth place.

BERTHA-HEWITT/VERNDALE RAIDERS


The Raiders dropped a pair of duals to Section 6A foes to Lean and Mean Barnesville 45-27 and to West Central Area 42-30. The Raiders earned 82 points and have wrestlers place in the top five to take fifth place at the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa "Jaguar" Invitational. Dillon Card and Colin Turchin both won champinships and Andrew Bounds earned third place. Justin Gordan and Dalton Baker both earned fourth place.

BRECKENRIDGE COWBOYS


The Cowboys dropped a dual to AA Morris Area/Hancock/Chokio-Alberta 45-32. The Cowboys topped Heart of Lakes Conference rival Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 38-33. They topped section 6A rival Barnesville 39-28 and AA foe United Clay Becker 48-24 and Section 6A foe Parkers Prairie 51-24.

BOLD WARRIORS

The Warriors scored 75 points at the Redwood Valley “River Riot” Invitational to earn fifteenth place with four place winners. Sean Wiebel earned third place, Brady Zitzman earned sixth place and Benny Garcia and Brett Grund both took seventh place. They dropped duals to soon to be ranked AAA Eden Prairie 43-23 and to AA Marshall 36-27. They lost to Section 3A rival and No. 3A ranked Minneota 56-13. The split a pair of pre-holiday duals to; they topped AAA Lean and Mean Eden Prairie 43-23 and they lost to No. 12AA ranked Dawson-Boyd/LQPV 48-16.

SAINT MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE KNIGHTS

The Knights had a great tourney performance with 181 points and eight place winners to earn third place at the Minnesota “Christmas” Invitational hosted by Rochester. At this thirty-two team event Tommy Thorn and Cole Sladek both won championships. Nick Edling and Lincoln Mallinger both earned second place, Mark Voss and Mitchell Eull both earned third place. Michael Kessler earned fifth place and Wayne Voss took seventh place. The Knights topped Mississippi 8 Conference and No. 9AA ranked Monticello 51-18. They did dropped a dual to a very good No. 3AA ranked Scott West 33-25. The Knights had a good showing at the National Duals "The Clash" with a 4-2 mark to win the D division. They topped No. 1 ranked in Idaho, Lewiston 36-26, No. 7AAA ranked Coon Rapids 43-20, No. 6A ranked Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 43-21 and No. 1ranked Div. 2 Luxemburg-Casco, Wisconsin 45-21. They did drop duals to National ranked and No. 1AA Simley 39-21 and to No. 6AAA Forest Lake 30-24. CAMBRIDGE-ISANTI BLUE JACKETS

The Blue Jackets earned ninth place at the Minnesota “Christmas” Invitational hosted by Rochester with 117.5 points and six place winners. Cody Skog earned third place, Travis Holt and Clayton Jennissen both place fourth. Tyler Tischer and Ty Torgerson both earned fifth place. Special congratulations to Clayton Jennissen as he won his 150th Career Match at the Christmas tourney. Tyler Tischer won his 100th Career Match at the Rumble on the Red. The Blue Jackets topped Mississippi 8 Conference foe Rogers 53-19. They crushed section 7AAA rival Anoka 53-15. They had a great tourney performance where they earned 220 points and all fourteen wrestlers placed in the top six to win the championship on their invitational. Clayton Jennissen, Ty Torgerson, Dakota Johnson and Tommy Guy all won championships. Nate Nussit, Travis Holt and Cole Bakke all earned second place, Monty Fredericksen, Nate Medin and Ben Hartnett all earned third place. Tanner Torgerson and Trent Chromy both earned fourth place, C. J. Schlichtman earned fifth place and Jon Knowlton took sixth place.

LITTLE FALLS FLYERS


The Flyers topped Section 8AAA and former Central Lakes Conference rival Brainerd 34-32 in a very exciting dual. They topped a pair of 6AA teams; Big Lake 36-28 and Zimmerman 81-0. The Flyers started their portion of the 2012 season with a pair of huge wins over Section 8AAA foes as they topped Bemidji 45-27 and Alexandria 61-12. The Flyers dropped a pair of duals to No. 10A ranked Pierz 44-32 and to AA Litchfield 34-32. They had a good tourney performance as they earned 160 points and had ten wrestlers place in the top six to take fourth place at the Cambridge-Isanti "Blue Jacket" Invitational. Dillon Kifer won a championship, Justin Jenks, Axel Lange, Connor Scherping and Conor Swanson all earned second place. Luke Lodermier and Trysten Ross both earned third place and Jordan Petron earned fourth place. Adam Grams earned fifth place and Tyler Gastecki took sixth place.

SAINT CLOUD APOLLO EAGLES


The Eagles really flexed their preholiday muscles as they crushed three foes including No. 8AA ranked Milaca 50-22. They also topped two Central Lakes Conference foes Alexandria 55-18 and Rocori 58-24. They had a great tourney performance as they scored 136 points and had six wrestlers in the top five places to earn third place at the 2nd Annual Foley "Tom Keating Memorial" Invitational. Mitch Bengtson and Nam Nguyen both won championships and Grant Dehring and Grant Dullinger both earned second place. Nick Stram had a great tourney earning third place and Matt Braun took fifth place in this fourteen field of teams.

BRAINERD WARRIORS


The Warriors had a very strong showing to earn fifth place at the Frazee “Les Kertscher” Duals. They dropped their quarterfinal dual to the No. 3A ranked Minneota 55-15. They defeated AA Lean and Mean Perham 31-29 in a very impressive performance and No. 10A Border West 45-30 for fifth place. Jace Engelman was their lone 3-0 wrestler at the Kertscher duals. The Warriors topped Section 8AAA and Central Lakes Conference rival St. Cloud Tech 42-19. They had a great tourney performance with 160.5 points and ten wrestlers placing in the top five to earn third place at the Cambridge-Isanti "Blue Jacket" Invitational. Luke Boran and Casey Beiver both earned championships and Nate Adam earned second place. Jeff Flickinger, Levi Rubin and Sam Adams all earned third place. Josh Schultz and Shane White both earned fourth place and Dan Babineau and Jake Zelinske both took fifth place.


SARTELL SABRES


The Sabres topped two Section 8AAA and Central Lakes Conference rivals Sauk Rapids 43-29 and St. Cloud Tech 45-27. Dan Vitale won his 60th career match at the Sauk Rapids dual. They did drop a Central Lakes Conference dual 37-29 in a very good Fergus Falls team. They earned ninth place at the River Riot tourney even with 101.5 points and four place winners. Josh Halicke won the championship at 145, Daniel Vitale earned second place, Brady Goebel earned fourth place and Nick Jensen took sixth place at the Redwood Valley “River Riot” Invitational. The Sabres dropped a Central Lakes Conference dual to Willmar 60-14. They had a great tournament performance at Olgilvie with 217 points and thirteen wrestlers placing in the top five. Daniel Vitale, Brady Goebel, Antone Thene and Jed Anderson all won championships. Nick Jensen and Abe Anderson both earned second place and Jake Fernholz, Garret Counter and Jake Miner all earned third place. Kyle Karolous, Joe Pelach and Sam Krauel all earned fourth place and Zach Motschke took fifth place.


WILLMAR CARDINALS


The Cardinals had a great performance as they defeated Central Lakes Conference rival St. Cloud 44-32 and Section 6AAA foe Buffalo 48-27. They dropped a pair of very close duals to Central Lakes Conference rivals Brainerd 37-31 and Fergus Falls 35-28. The Cardinals had a great tourney as they earned fourth place at the Cass Lake “Big Bear” Invitational a thirty-two field of teams. With six place winners scoring 136.5 points including Alex Johannes earned second place, Seth Pollock earned third place. Nate Mittag and Logan Walkow both earned fourth place and Austin Miley and Colten Carlson both took fifth place. The Cardinals earned fourth place at the Montevideo "Dave Roder Memorial" Invitational with 91.5 points. They held out five of their started due to match count for this event. Austin Milley won their lone championship and Cass Herzog earned second place. Chad Milhausen, Shawn Johnson and Qugustine Hahn all earned third place. Zach Lueders earned fourth place and Levi Milhausen and Travis Deegan both took fifth place. The Cardinals topped Central Lakes Conference foe Sartell 60-14.

BEMIDJI LUMBERJACKS


The Lumberjacks dropped a pair of duals to No. 7AA Thief River Falls 38-36 and No. 12AA Grand Rapids 33-28. They had a good showing despite only getting eighth place at the Frazee ““Les Kertscher” Duals. They entered this tourney with two open weights, in the quarterfinals to lost to the No. 2A ranked Frazee 55-13. In the consolation semifinals they lost a close dual to No. 11A Border West 44-36 and for seventh place AA Lean and Mean 55-20. Logan Crsoby and Brian Maas were both 3-0 at the Kertscher duals. The Lumberjacks split a pair of Section 8AAA duals as they topped Alexandria 35-30 and they dropped a dual to Little Falls 45-27. They earned third place at the Hibbing "Blue Jacket" Duals with wins over Nashwauk-keewatin 46-24 and Princeton 49-19. They dropped matches to Chisago Lakes 37-29 and to No. 11AAA Centennial 44-22. For the Lumberjacks Brian Maas, Logan Crosby and Kade Johnson were all 4-0 and Craig Maas, Alex Johnson and Brenden Fredrickson were all 3-1 at the Hibbing duals.

MOORHEAD SPUDS


The Spuds dropped duals to Class A Lean and Mean Barnesville 34-31 and to No. 1A in North Dakota and Nationally Ranked West Fargo 50-19. The Spuds topped cross town rival Fargo North 35-28.The Spuds had a good tournament performance with 144.5 points and seven wrestlers placing in the top five to earn fourth place at the Perham "Barrel O'Fun" Invitational. Jacob Rositas and Chase Morlock both won championships and Kenny Mark, A. J. Wheeler and Joe Carpenter all earned second place. Mike Zupan earned third place and Tom Wychor earned fourth place.

ST. CLOUD TECH TIGERS


The Tigers dropped two Central Lakes Conference duals to Willmar 44-32 and Sartell 45-27. They did top Central Lakes Conference rival Sauk Rapids 36-32 in a very good dual. The Tigers topped former Section 8AAA foe; now Section 6AAA Buffalo 39-32. Central Minnesota Conference rival Brainerd 42-19. The Tigers earned 90.5 points at the Mora "Mustangs" Invitational with five wrestlers placing in the top four places to take sixth place. Jerrad Nieland won their only championship at 285 and Martin Maurice and Bryant Amundson both earned third place. Brouwer Brady and Noah Voigt both earned fourth place at the Mora tourney.


SAUK RAPIDS STORM


The Storm topped Central Lakes Conference and Section 8AAA foe Alexandria 43-27. They also dropped two very close duals to Central Lakes Conference and Section 8AAA rivals Sartell 42-29 and St. Cloud Tech 36-32. They dropped to duals to No. 5A ranked Kimball 60-9 and to Central Lakes Conference and Section 8AAA rival St. Cloud Apollo 53-28. The Storm earned 83 points and had five place winners at the Foley "Tom Keating Memorial" Invitational to take tenth place in a field of fourteen teams. Erik Olson and Chris Keske both earned second place and Dalton Siemers earned third place. McKay Ness and Sean Pearson both took sixth place.

ELK RIVER ELKS


The Elks dropped duals to Northwest Suburban Conference rivals Osseo 41-30 and to Champlin Park 40-22. They did topped Robbinsdale Armstrong in Conference action. They lost to the No. 2AA ranked Foley 55-9 and to Northwest Suburban Conference rival Maple Grove 34-33. The Elks earned 72 points and had four place winners in the top five to take seventh place at the Cambridge-Isanti "Blue Jacket" Invitational. Evan Caldon earned first place, Mitch Beaudry earned second place, Ryan Osburg earned fourth place and Kyle Wieman took fifth place.


BUFFALO BISON


The Bison dropped duals to Section 6AAA foes Willmar 48-27 and Hopkins 45-23. They also dropped a very close dual to former Section 8AAA rival St. Cloud Tech 39-32. They topped two foes at their quadrangular with big wins over Orono 69-12 and Spring Lake Park 54-25. They dropped a dual to No. 8AA ranked Milaca 59-12, they had two wrestlers that were 3-0 at the quadrangular; Tanner Maus and Adam Treptua. The Bison dropped a dual to Mississippi 8 Conference rival Monticello 53-18. They earned 78 points and had five wrestlers place in the top six at the Foley "Tom Keating Memorial" Invitational to take eleventh place. Lucas Mock and Tanner Maus both earned third place, Cedric Jimenez earned fourth place, Adam Treptua earned fifth place and Jonathan Wirkkala took sixth place.

ROCORI SPARTANS

The Spartans split a pair of Central Lakes Conference duals; they topped Alexandria in a very exciting dual 40-33 and they fell a little short against St. Cloud Apollo 58-24. They scored 49 points and had two place winners at the Redwood Valley "River Riot" Invitational. Jordan Hemmesch earned second place Zavier Gropper took eighth place. The Spartans topped Class A rival Eden Valley-Watkins.

ALEXANDRIA CARINDALS

The Cardinals dropped three Central Lakes Conference duals to Sauk Rapids 43-27, Rocori 40-33 and St. Cloud Apollo 55-18. They earned fourteenth place at the Redwood Valley "River Riot" Invitational with 78 points and three place winners. Trent Piepenburg earned second place and Tony Hubbard and Justin Cumberbatch both earned fourth place. The Cardinals dropped a pair of Section 8AAA duals to Bemidji 35-30 and to Little Falls 61-12. They had two place winners at the Foley "Tom Keating Memorial" Invitational. Trent Piepenburg earned second place and Tony Hubbard earned fifth place.
