FARVORITES: MILLE LACS RAIDERS and the PIERZ PIONEERS
The Raiders of Mille Lacs will have fifteen wrestlers back from their 20-9, Great River Conference Champion team and Section 7A championship. They will return seven section place winners, which two of them were state qualifiers and eight others with a great deal of experience. Despite the graduation of four very good seniors including four section place winners and one state runner up look for the Raiders to make a strong challenge to defend those titles from last season. Mark Francour, Bradley Brown, Chase Niesen, Cody Whitney, Ryan Jones and Nic Borchert should their key leaders.
The Pioneers of Pierz will have back fifteen from their 16-15 dual meet campaign and a final four in Section 7A. They will have back ten section place winners including five state qualifiers, two of which were state place winners. Despite the graduation of five seniors look for the Pioneers to surely improve on those dual meet marks and to make a strong challenge for both section and conference honors. Clint Poster, Sean Huls, Nathan Tomala, Brad Meyer and Chris Ortman to be their key leaders this upcoming season. The Pioneers fans are very excited about the upcoming season and the possibilities.
DARK HORSES: ROYALTON ROYALS and the AITKIN GOBBLERS
The Royals of Royalton have sixteen wrestlers back from their 17-8 and a section 7A runner up spot. They will return eight section place including three state qualifiers. So despite the graduation of five seniors including four section place winners, which two were state qualifiers they will be in the hunt for section dual meet honors and conference honors. Andrew Plumski, Mitch Lange, Andy Poster and Kyle Wentland will be the key leaders for the Royals.
The Gobblers of Aitkin will return sixteen wrestlers back from their 10-8 campaign. They will have eight section place winners back, which four were state qualifiers and others with a great deal of experience. With the graduation of just three seniors, which all three were section place winners look for the Gobblers to have a much improved season. They should make a strong challenge for section dual meet honors and conference honors. Jordan Chouanard, Dalton Stevens and Isaac Novak should be the key leaders for the Gobblers this season.
There are three state medal winners back from last season that includes: Hayden Zillmer (State Champion) of Crosby-Ironton, Clint Poster of Pierz and Sean Huls of Pierz. There are a total of sixteen returning state qualifiers from last year's state tourney action. Those not mentioned above are: Jake Hickerson and Wyatt Hippie of Ogilvie and Jeremey Hamman of Crosby-Ironton.
Look for the following wrestlers: Zach Olson and Nate Bresnahan of Mille Lacs, Brett Brausen, Josh Lanners and Cody VanZee of Pierz, Dan Borash, Tyler Hegna, Brian Schlichting and Tom Averill of Royalton, Adam Jackson and Kevin Handt of Aitkin and Colin Mitchell of Ogilvie to challenge for medals at the end of the season.
MILLE LACS RAIDERS

The Raiders of Mille Lacs posted a very good 20-9 dual meet mark and a Section 7A championship trophy last season, back from that team are four section place winners, including two state qualifiers. They will also return two state qualifiers from 2009 nine, both were injured last season and eight others with a great deal of experience. Despite the graduation of four very good seniors including three state tourney wrestlers look for the Raiders to challenge those dual meet regards of last season. They make a strong challenge to defend their section and conference titles of last season. Mark Francour, Bradley Brown, Chase Niesen, Cody Whitney, Nic Borchert, Ryan Jones and Zach Olson should be their leaders thru out the season.
